QuoteAmsterdamned Sorry if this has been posted before: Talk about calling the kettle black...of all the comments Wyman could have made about Taylors time in the Stones...this is truly bizarre.

QuoteGazza Hopefully 'Sometime in New York City' will be remastered to make the entire record inaudible. Along those lines, I was hoping the instrument being removed was going to be her vocals....sorry could not resist.

My wife, who is a few years younger felt that I was getting more salt than pepper, so I have used Touch of Grey off and on for the last couple of years. Works very well.

QuoteToru A How about this one? Huge fan of this one. Knew about Carla Olson from her days playing in LA. She also had a day job as a independent label representative back in the 80s/early 90s and occassional called on the company I worked for.

I remember hearing Lady of the 80s on a CBS compilation album and thought they were interesting without knowing anything about them, but did not end up being a fan of their hits.

Wig truthers? It is interesting to see as rock stars age which ones try to keep their younger look and those who age naturally. I think there comes a time in their fourties where they have to make a decision. Charlie Watts and Peter Frampton come to mind as ones who made the decision to let the aging processing take its course and I think they look very good.

I must have been sleeping back in the day....I had know idea that Mick Taylor played the solo on the Joan Jett hit I Hate Myself for Loving You Mick Taylor part of the original grrrl power movement...I was actually working in the record store at the time and never heard about this. Does not seem like it was widely publicized in the MTV days?

Quoteskipstone Quote71TeleMemory Motel is contrived lyrically and overwrought sentimental mush (similar to Following The River in that respect). Memory Motel is a million motherfucking miles better ahead than that Wallowing The River song!!!!! And as a bonus it's got Keith singing on it. I am probably in the minority, but I think Black and Blue sounds better and less dated than Some Girl

Monkey Grip is almost vaudevillian in style....there is also a crazy video for Get Me a Gun on You Tube. There used to be one for Monkey Grip Glue with Bill playing piano, but I cannot find it anymore. Does anyone know what show these clips are from?

Charlie gets my vote for best by a long shot because he looks like man his age is supposed to look like and a very elegant dresser. Mick J is starting to look a little off with the long colored hair. I guess Keith has aged the worst, but I think he had a hell of a good time doing so.

Agreed, I could personally do without Cherry, but the album has a great sound and I like all the different styles from the various players. This is kind of the Stones guitarist olympics and the participants did well in my opinion.

(Also, would you physically hurt someone next to you who was calling out for "Start Me Up") I think mine would be "Prodigal Son" as I think it is a song they could still do well and yes I would hurt people who were shouting out for "Start Me Up".

Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings covered Green River. As far as Stones influence, I guess of the generic sort. I do not hear a lot of it directly. I always found it interesting that Fogerty came up with that swamp rock sound that is associated with the bayou, but if I remember correctly he was California born and raised. it just all goes back to the blues in one way or another.

I do not think you would find a single person on this forum who would think that way or use it as a criteria for judging bass players." Mitch Florida loves to throw specualtion out there as fact in kind of a breezy tabloid style. I am not sure of the UK equivalent, but what he does makes me think of a Rock and Roll version on the National Inquirer. I think we have a hard time not responding to his more outlandish takes, in the same way I cannot stop myself from reading the headlines of the Inquirer while I am standing in the gr

How can you get extra noodles in Ramen? Cook another pack? For me, some of MTs best solos have a such a majesty that they lifted the Stones to another level. Ronnie added a muscular energy that kept the Stones from becoming irrelevant. Best of both worlds.
