Quotematxil QuoteRobertJohnson QuoteNatlanta QuoteRobertJohnson QuoteJumpingKentFlash QuoteRobertJohnson This is the weakest song on HD for me. The lyrics are cheesy, the three chords of the verses are tortured over 7 minutes. It's all pretty unimaginative. Plus, who needs a Lady Gaga on a Stones album, since the Stones have always had and continue to have good backup singers? The bleeping a

Ecstatic review from the Times - 5 stars Cut and paste for those who can't get past the paywall The Rolling Stones: Sweet Sounds of Heaven review — a jam session for the gods The new single, featuring Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder, is their finest new material for years Who knew they still had it in them? Sure, the Rolling Stones can still cut it live, but they’ve not come up with a

Stellar vocal from Mick (and beautifully supported by GaGa). If this really wasn't planned as a duet then it is a truly serendipitous bonus that she was in the studio. I love tis one.

QuoteSpud He can wear whatever he wants as far as I'm concerned. I was just amused by the "formal" black trainers. He's probably not doing even that for any sort of decorum or compliance with dress code but because having trouser and shoe in same colour gives the illusion of a longer leg; ordinary trainers with dress trousers would break the trouser line and make him lo

QuoteRocky Dijon I would suspect that a residency in Vegas would be very hard on Mick's throat. And on his image! I think Mick would rather die in a corner than give in to a format which is irretrievably associated with oldies and/or those past their peak. I would never rule out a couple of shows in one city over a couple of weeks - they've essentially done that in London before now

As far as I can tell on the basis of last year's performances they are still in 2023 one of the best live bands/music shows in the world. That's their defining feature now. The back catalogue of hits is peerless, the influence on rock, entertainment and, to a degree, cultural mores, profound and the record-breaking longevity as a working band unprecedented - all those and more will de

Certainly of interest to me. Too poor to bid for any of his lovely first editions but I have bought a catalogue. This article is in today's Telegraph along with photos I can't upload - paywall so I have cut and pasted, which I hope is allowed. Quotepeoplewitheyes I didn't get in to the Empire for the interview, but, as folk were leaving, some kind lady gave me her wristband, and I went in, got a bag, T-shirt and some guy gave me a Stones cupcake! A joyous afternoon in balmy Hackney, great atmosphere and wonderful people. Thank you Stones! Hot girls and cupcakes - you gotta love the Stones PR covering every base! Fun afte

Quotesnorton Love the video, I couldn't tell, was Bill or Brian ever shown in the video? Brian is completely written out - I noticed when they talked about "Live by the sword" having Bill and Charlie, one of them, Mick?, said 'the original line-up'. Bill is glimpsed in some of the video footage.

Song is catchy. Pop rather than rock but obviously recognisably the Stones. I enjoy looking at the historical performance footage on the billboards on the video but I don't see any connection between the video contents and the lyrics. Might as well be "don't get kippers for tea" as 'don't get angry at me". I suppose it could be said having a pneumatic model

Slightly anti-climactic in terms of new info/content. I feel it was like with old Soviet leaders in the Cold War - a public show that they are alive and healthy and not much else. Mick and Keith definitely looked and sounded well.

Do we think Keith will actually bother to fly to London or is the whole live streaming jazz an excuse for them to do it virtually in different locations? Obviously Ronnie and Mick will show up in London, I'm guessing.

Quotedcba Basically 95% of Mick’s troubles over the last 50 years came from Keith : the 77 Toronto arrest, the problems with having a US working visa in 75 plus tons of little troubles we never heard about. If you add the numerous jabs Keith threw at Mick since his early 80s return to life, and the guitarist’s numerous tantrums on tour or in the studio you come to the conclusion Mick’s praise
