The split occurred because Denny gave a tell all interview to either the Daily Mail or Daily Express (cant recall, its been so long) and spilled the beans on what a cheapskate Paul is, among other unflattering stories Paul would have preferred to go untold. His ex-wife JoJo claimed the journalists had gotten Denny drunk beforehand which is why he was so forthcoming. If I can find it online, I

From Philip Normans book- The timing could not have been worse for still more embarrassing revelations from a formerly intimate and trusted associate. Since the end of Wings, Denny Laine’s solo career had not prospered and his financial difficulties had multiplied to the point where he’d sold his equity as co-writer of ‘Mull of Kintyre’ back to Paul for £135,000. Now, following his ex-wife’s ex

Apparently Denny had a passion for high stakes gambling and didnt come out of Wings with alot of money- he was forced to sell his share of the "Mull of Kintyre" publishing to Macca for $100K, a fraction of its longterm value. He recruited the last lineup of Wings with Laurence Juber, who has gone on to become a Grammy award winning exponent of fingerstyle guitar and Steve Holley, a

Roger is pushing 80 and I'm starting to wonder if all this excessive combativeness negativity and illogic isnt an early manifestation of age related cognitve/emotional decline. Its starting to feel weird and unhealthy. He seems to have moved past the "you kids get off my lawn" phase of geriatric crankiness. It does happen to lots of people in the twilight years, sad to say.

Charlie and Bill were brought in because, worthy musicians though they are, Klaus and Ringo couldnt get the feel for Wolf's music. Ringo was intimidated by Wolf and was happy not to return. " Moanin' at Midnight: The Life and Times of Howlin' Wolf" is a great source of info for all things Howlin' Wolf and a very entertaining read.

Well, we knew they werent friends but I think this is a new low for the relationship. Dave's wife certainly not at a loss for words. Well, David Gilmour and Roger Waters still hate each other. Gilmour’s wife, the author Polly Samson, took to Twitter to denounce Waters as a “misogynistic, antisemitic Putin apologist” (amongst several other things), and Gilmour shared the claims as “demons

Thanks for the info. I just listened to the online sample. The playing is total crap. Steve Marriott was an excellent guitarist and in his prime Brian Jones blew a wicked harp. Not sure how this made it on to vinyl/CD. The mind boggles.

Jerry Shirley and Peter Frampton have both gone on record over the years that Brian had a phone chat with his pal Steve Marriott about coming to see the newly formed Pie while they were "getting it together in the country" with an eye towards working with them but died very shortly thereafter. (The bands early Immediate material was influenced by "Music From Big Pink" and quit

FYI the Roy Young reference in the lyrics- (saw Ian with Roy Young in the 80's at the Bayou in DC..he rocked ) Per Wikipedia- In 1961, he began working at the Top Ten Club in Hamburg, where he played with Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers, who briefly included Ringo Starr, and recorded with Sheridan.[5] He then won a contract to play at the rival Star-Club, where he met the Beatles, a

A once in a generation talent.. totally unique and original. Saw Jeff on tour with Stevie Ray Vaughan. Stevie Ray delivered a crowd pleasing but rather predictable set..Jeff was touring behind "Guitar Shop" at the time and completely baffled the audience with off the wall brilliance. I thought he stole the show. RIP and thank you Jeff Beck!

You dont see a whole lot of Elvis threads here.... but heres a killer alt take of "How The Web Was Woven" from 1970 where he delivers the proverbial goods. Totally eclipses the George Harrison produced cover by Jackie Lomax from the same year. By Elvis standards, very stripped down and contemporary (for 1970, that is). Wailin! video:
