Quotedaspyknows Quotebleedingman This is a very interesting article on the effects of making children wear masks. (The Atlantic is NOT a right wing news outlet.) We are still in a learning curve: The Downsides of Masking Young Students Are Real The educational cost of face coverings is far better established than the benefits of mandates. Face coverings for children are not ideal but

QuoteRocktiludrop CDC study shows 74% of people infected with covid outbreak in Massachusetts were fully vaccinated. Is it really necessary to take the vaccine at this stage considering everything. I mean if it's not preventing covid or the spread what's the point From a sample of 469 Of which 4 people were hospitalised Personally I think that’s great maths for vaccination Th

50k cases per day, likely 1% infection rate nationwide, hospital admissions doubling roughly every three weeks and the clowns in government in the uk are ditching social distancing and masks on Monday Utterly ridiculous. Fast track to more restrictions in autumn, and a load of avoidable illnesses and deaths in the meantime Keep your mask on, keep your distance and get your jab

Awful way to go out on pens. Being critical - - should have had grealish, rashford, Sancho on sooner - didn’t get to grips with Italy second half - unbelievably harsh on Saka/final pen On the plus side - great progress and a young team - bring on Qatar - this team have been fabulous, a credit to the country in the way they handled themselves - Southgate will learn from this In s

So long as hospitalisations are minimised and our ‘blessed’ NHS isn’t ‘overwhelmed’, we’ll, hopefully, be fine. It’s time to do this. Covid hospitalisation actually rising rapidly in uk. QuoteBig Al For those in the U.K. Will you be ditching the covering on ‘Freedom Day’? I’m sure we’ll have to continue wearing one on public transport, hospitals and clinics, but nowhere else will it seemingly be mandatory. Boris has pretty much stated that it’s ‘up to us’ I wonder if there will be mass burnings of PPE? Nope. I’ll be continuing to wear mine in shops and public transport - it’s

Quotemikey C I Think the Czech's can beat the Danes Today! We shall See! Good one for the neutrals this - on paper evenly matched, Danes with a lot of goodwill following eriksen incident, and always had a soft spot for the Czechs after their heroics in past competitions (think it was 96?) some great players down the years Then England later….

Belgium-Italy was a fabulous game of football - enjoyed every minute. Harsh on the Belgians to go home they’re a good team) but Italians playing extremely well - I was confident they’d hold on to the lead, centre halves a bit old but nothing hit past them Hope England can progress tomorrow

QuoteDGA35 One thing about threads like this is that you can figure out which IORR members are European vs North American. I'm guessing that pretty much all who are posting on this thread are from Europe? Similar to an NFL thread where all would be from the US (or Canada)! Think that’s about right! What do you guys think for today? France Spain to progress? Outside chance for Croatia?

Very much looking forward to today’s games - Wales v Denmark I have a soft spot for both and an evenly matched game for the neutrals. Can’t see past the Italians (been in great form) v Austria. I’m not sure my own team (England) have enough to see off Germany on Tuesday given our misfiring strikers and lack of cohesion, even if our German friends are a bit slow at the back

Personally (even if we were allowed to leave the uk or enter the US) I wouldn’t be rushing to (I’m also double jabbed). A few more months of large scale vaccination in the UK and I would be happy to attend a foo fighters style all vaccinated gig, but I wouldn’t be booking flights to the us at the moment. The delta is v prominent in the uk just now, would imagine this will be repeated pretty quick
