QuoteCindyC QuoteJuanTCB I can confirm that Darryl and Tim are at Racket. Hey Juan! Long time no see! Are you there? I was going to fly in but heard it was only industry/media being allowed in. Now i'm kinda kicking myself for not making the trip. If you're there, have a great time! Cindy! How's it going??? All good on my end. I stopped by the pop-up shop this afte

Charlie coming in on the ride cymbal at about 2:39 on "Neighbours". He's just a moment late... and then the whole thing just elevates. About 31 seconds into "Bye Bye Johnny" in L&G - Mick and Keith are at the mic and during the vocal pause in the chorus, Mick grins and laughs and Keith kind of cocks his head as if to say "Cut the crap". Cracks me up eve

Nashville Scene is reporting it. He went this morning at home. Cirrhosis, apparently. Awful news. R.I.P., Bobby.

The same thing as I do now. Not to be sarcastic... but I haven't seen them in 2 years, so it's not like I'm really going to miss the regularity of going to the shows. Most of my other favorite bands have split, so it'll just be more of the same (though on a far more monumental level) - you just move on and look back on all the great shows you saw. While I dig Bang and t

Love Barrence! Over the summer I went to the Record Exchange in Salem, MA - where I bought my first Stones Decca album (a mono Out Of Our Heads) 30 years ago - and Barrence was behind the counter. I had to pick up a copy of Dig Thy Savage Soul and have him autograph it. Great album, great store, great guy! Glad he's back in the game - hope he plays NYC soon...

LSTNT is sped up and butchered, for starters. That said, I'd kill for a straight release of that Phoenix show. Unedited and not sped up, of course.

Quoteshadooby Anybody know why Bobby was there, but only made a brief showing on sax? In a nutshell: He was still on the outs with Mick after the champagne bath incident in '73. Keith had to ease him back into the fold.

Star Club '64. He's backed by, I think, the Swingin' Blue Jeans. They are all on speed - including the crowd. It's one of the most rock & roll things you'll ever hear.

QuoteGasLightStreet Who's got the high voice? Awesome meltdown! 2 minutes in! It's gotta be Billy - you can hear Keith in other parts of the song and I don't think Ronnie could ever hit those notes.

Did Herman's Hermits ever open up for them? I know they toured the U.S. with the Who opening in '67 but as far as I know, they never supported the Beatles. These posters can get ridiculous. My favorite is one of the Monkees with Paul Revere & the Raiders supporting... at some arena in July '66. The Monkees hadn't even released a record in July '66, let alone tou

Sucks. The Raiders were one of the premiere singles bands of the era - "Kicks", "Good Thing", "Hungry", "Great Airplane Strike", "Him Or Me", "Steppin' Stone"... and Midnight Ride, Spirit Of '67, and Revolution are all great albums. Granted, the whole thing evolved by then into pretty much a Mark Lindsay/Terry Melcher/Wreck

I know almost every aspect of this solo is flawed... but it's my favorite solo ever, by anyone, in any medium. Go figure. I guess it's just got personality. (Start at 7:40 if it doesn't cue up there automatically) RONNIE.

I'm not sure if I've ever sat through Metamorphosis from start to finish - I usually just skip around with the CD remote/mouse as a lot of it really sucks. But I just picked up a nice vinyl copy for cheap a couple of weeks ago, so it might finally have its day in the sun...

I didn't discover them until Don't Tell A Soul when I was 17 and missed them live at the tail end of their original run. Friday night was the culmination of a 25 year wait - and it exceeded all expectations. The "Unsatisfied" encore was one of the best live music experiences I've ever had. What a fantastic show.

They keep Ronnie off the streets! And the whole "the noise they create makes me really happy" thing, too.

Probably somewhere around 150, give or take, in various formats. Very few sound as magical as the original Goat's Head LP I'm spinning right now, though. The depth of the soundstage - incredible!

I saw him do a few tunes a the HOF Induction ceremony this spring in Brooklyn. I never really cared about his music one way or the other but I've gotta say, he was pretty fantastic. A very witty guy, to boot.

The whole late '90s Bridges/No Security run for me. Loud guitars, really solid new material, nice deep cuts, and an absolutely ripping Keith. The only thing holding it back was that it was the peak of Ronnie's smoking and waving era.

But Bill Wyman might be the least fun person on the face of the Earth. As much as I dig Ronnie's extracurriculars, I think it might be Keith. 2 albums (one classic, the next one mediocre, IMHO) and the rock star autobio to end all rock star autobios. And then there's Mick. His solo stuff sucks but whenever he shows up anywhere (w/U2 at the HOF 25th party, at the Grammys, etc.) h
