The sentence is taken out of it's context, completely. Daltrey has huge respect of this band. And mr. Daltrey is right in many ways; Rolling Stones is not a band consisting of great mucians; and they can sound terrible at times. These days, it's all so "straight" , the opening show of 2021 being one example; it is pretty good. But "back then" - when they didn&

If Brian Jones insisted on being in the band, and the band agreed - Mick Jagger wouldn't stopped with Ned Kelly and Performance; he'd be the next James Bond, throughout the 70s.

I can't stand this song. It's as horrible as Drift Away. Very understandable they didn't release these ones, at the time.

True. And also true; kids imagination; all of them. We old folks either got to wait for it all to end, or try to cash in in on deal that's allready lost; like Wood.

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteErik_Snow I don't get this criticism of these litographs/posters, obviously the "RS camp" are counting on morons to buy their products for $$$$, so design or art shouldn't mean anything. As Ronnie Wood's "setlist-art" sells for 10 times as much; they know they can sell anything. I hope the people, still alive, will keep on buying, to

QuoteRobertJohnson Oh yes, a better rendition, Keith's phrasing is very interesting and musically far above the Hyde Park performance. Mick Taylor is his majesty as usual. Yes, I agree, way better than Hyde Park, but I agree with Rockman; Rock'n Roll Cirkus is *the* No Expectations, and always have been; for me.

QuoteDoxa And no matter how interesting the Hyde Park version is, it is still a bit sad that it turned to be Taylor's only version with the Stones. So much potential there. But then there's also Los Angeles 1973

Quotethomashanck thank you paddy, funny videos, but i am more interested in videos with the real stones in it, though it is really funny, and a bit of time machine, these were the nineties ... You obviously don't care about the threads of IORR, as you always threads do about something dicussed before, many times, so why don't just shove it. Read or f off.

This is funny, when re-reading, it seems that I'm attacking Eddie and Tim Ries. I like jazz musicians doing jazz and classical pianists doing classical, not covers of pop-songs. Oops, there I attacked again; sigh.... Good luck with the sale, Eddie, and please excuse me

If one's going to start a "OT"-thread starting with "Greta", then please let it be Great Garbo and not some kind of relevant pop music. We are not relevant on this board!

I remember reading in the paper, in 1992, that Jagger was seen walking out from Keith Richards' concert, in the midddle of Gimme Shelter, shaking his head. And I can't blame him, if true.

Don't mean to be rude, Eddie, but how could you possibly purchase something like this in the first place?

I like the stage of some shows of 1972 when Jagger came out through the RS tongue, as seen in the CS Blues movie. I think the Voodoo Lounge stage was too metallic and cold, didn't suit the music. Of course nothing can beat the indoor-stage of 1975 - but it would be silly to have something as extravaganza as that in the later decades

It's not that Norway can't afford shot-guns, they could afford tanks all over the place if that made things better. There's been a lot of research on this I know plenty of stories from a family member who was chief police in the 80s and 90s; when sick guys started shooting they only got more sick when "armed forces" got there. But when they sent in either young girls (

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quoteterraplane Eric is a solo artist. Has been for 50 years. Becoming second guitarist in the Stones would have been a step down for him. But that's what he wanted. Would never have worked, though. Eric Clapton was so out of it in the mid 70s, whatever conclusion he came to at anything, at that time, was ramblings. When he finally sobered up I'd think he was

Over to After Midnight, I never did care that much for Clapton's versions, compared to JJ Cale, unlike other Cale-covers he has done. But, when hearing the Baloise 2013 version of After Midnight....that's the best arrangement yet starts at 24:45 here

"I'd Make Love To You Any Time" is the highlight, but the thing is that JJ Cale's version is better, I listen a lot more to him than I do to Clapton, when it comes to studio recordings of the 70s and 80s.
