Well, these are 2 of the best Ethan Russel photos from MSG 1969, but it needs better resolution, especially the first "Devils Desciple" one

I don't see why it has to be RAH. Since Marquee Club no longer exist, a "July 12th" concert could take place anywhere.

Alice Cooper is cool, and it's a nice gesture of him. But that's some of the lamest backing bands I've heard, especially the drums and bass.....geez, Alice deserves better than that.

>>Plus, let's be honest here, how would you feel if you could finally own a box set of those recordings along with professionally shot video of a complete MSG concert from 1969.>> Of course I'd love it. And yes; nothing to lose by trying. It was a big surprise when that "half-baked deluxe set" of GYYYO was released 10-15 years ago. Obviously, RS didn't w

Don't mean to put your/our hopes down, Sighunt, but I just wondered; since ABKCO put out most of the MSG recordings on youtube, 2 years ago, just before the copyright ran out; wouldn't they get a big percentage of the income of any "deluxe GYYYO" in adition of being in the situation where they can say "no" to Jagger & co ? If so, it's more likely with

If they chose to release something from 1972, it would make a lot more sense, for them, to release something that's allready available in so fine quality, illegally, that there would be a market for them (soon to be) semi-official CDs in official stores when the copyright runs out; not only among "bootleg collectors". And that means Fort Worth, Houston, Philadelphia or the last MSG

Quotejohnh why doesn't "Ladies and Gentlemen" count? Because they didn't really peak before very late june or maybe one should say july 1972. ANd because the sound isn't that good at all.

CS Blues is just like Dylan's Renaldo & Clara from the 1975 tour; extremely boring apart from the concert footage. Both should had been edited with 70%-80%, then it would be a terrific 20 minute watch.

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteErik_Snow Quotedcba QuoteGasLightStreet Have they ever touched up any live release? Obviously not the big label live releases. Nico's site shows they always overdubbed the live tapes from the tour they had just finished : 1969? Overdubbed. 1972? Overdubbed. But as early as 1966, they did something more clever, when they simply overdubbed an audience instead

Quoteretired_dog QuoteErik_Snow QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteErik_Snow I've always been a big fan of Love You Live, the only thing is that after getting my first TOTA 1975 bootlegs in the early 90s, I thought they were so much better compared to LYL. But prior to that, I listened a LOT to that double-album. Apart from the El Mocambo tracks, I think side 4 is terrific. HTW, Happy, Hot Stuff

Quotedcba Didn't someone mention there are actually THREE guitars on one "side 3" track ("Mannish Boy" iirc), which proves there were overdubs done a few days after the gigs. On Little Red Rooster as well. Anyway, it doesn't worry me. They played just as good in the spring/summer of 1977 as they did at March 5th. It would be a different thing if they messed w

QuoteGJV Those overdubs were already done decades earlier, so no new overdubs on Hampton. Yes they did lots of overdubs in 1982, not only on the tracks for Still Life, but for the KBFH radio broadcasts, etc

They haven't overdubbed any of their vault-live-releases yet, so no reason to suspect they will with El Mocambo. They only overdub live-recordings if it's just after the concert took place, that it's getting released. Like Love You Live, Four Flicks, etc.

Quoteslewan Quoteribbelchips I only wish my town had an actual record store. I am willing to travel for two hours or so, but then i want to be sure that i actually can get a copy.. I quess I'll just have to contact some nearby record stores... Well, there's no way to be sure – some stores get some records, some stores get others and some stores sell their left-overs a few days later
