What about "Dance Little Sister" with it's references to Africa as well as the Carnival on Frederick Street in Trinidad?

I see now it's Scott Thorson across from Liberace. Odd painting.

I don't think there was a reference to the lights of Marfa in 1978. It was a 2011 addition when the lyrics were reworked.

Not in the least, it was posted in this thread and the new album thread several times over the last three months. I posted it again as a reminder that the Stones (or at least some of them) are working on new album (or at least new material) in Paris while we amuse ourselves and/or bicker. By the way, I love the poodle on the album art, Mister DDD. Mick and Charlie with Liberace and who else?

Quoteretired_dog QuoteRocky Dijon That's all well and fine, but what about Taylorite and should they be allowed to marry? You want a politically correct or honest answer? The world needs more Taylorites. Unfortunately, there is no genetic proof two Taylorites marrying will raise a family of Taylorites, though sociological proof suggests children of Taylorite families will be more toleran

Me? I like Mick and Keith solo. I don't really understand liking the Stones' recorded work of the past 35 years and not appreciating both Glimmer Twins on their own. I'm also a Ronnie fan, but I taper off after SLIDE ON THIS. As for a new Stones album, it would be nice to find out Keith was in Paris after all and just being contrary.

Just my opinion, but I think Mick wants a Stones album before another solo album. It was said/specualted elsewhere on the board that they both want their own way and I think that's likely the case. Their relationship is fascinating so long as it doesn't get in the way of delivering the goods. I think it's fair to say that has happened in various forms, but not enough for them to gi

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 But hold it a minute - I am transfixed by that last sentence/ quote; is that a signature quote? It is, yeah. I was given it yesterday. It amused me at the time so I added it to a few earlier posts. Not sure if I'll keep it. It doesn't violate the rules, but my appreciation of such things is very much down to the mood I'm in from work.

Whereas Doxa's Poodles made me think of Charlie's Angels. I was a kid in the seventies and remember other kids with Charlie's Angels lunch boxes. Well one man's bitches are another man's Angels, I suppose. While sexist, I'm at least the nice guy for a change. I think. I'll let the critics' section decide.

The only part of Doxa's Poodle that I truly loved was that it was said to Retired Dog. It's like calling Hairball a mangy cat. It was too perfect to be upset by. That said, treaclefingers has a good point. Doxa's Poodles should be three gorgeous, shapely private eyes in skintight clothing who left the police academy out of frustration. "Now they work for me. My name is Dox

Quote35love Do not mess with Rocky Dijon’s encyclopediac memory. That’s a dated term now, isn’t it, no more encyclopedia books, let’s see.... Immediate google head, mind like a steel trap (don’t like that one) Dude forgets nothing (sounds more like me) I wish I forgot nothing! Too many concussions and poor choices in my past, but thank you just the same.

Can't really imagine the film without Mick. From the soundtrack through to the promotion, it was about Mick and what a danger decadent anti-establishment androgynous rock stars seemed at the time. Cammell deserves credit for seeing the connection to the mob and showing both sides of Turner from creative bohemian to respectable businessman. The film is similar to SUNSET BLVD. in that both hav

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quoteguyrachel Rocky Dijon the name says it all, abusive cynical it’s so easy to see why people lose interest in this site, because people like you continually shove their boring opinions relentlessly down everyone’s throats. I enjoy Micks albums enormously, and I enjoy Keith’s enormously, and they are different and complimentary. They are better together IMO. But find oth

That's not fair, Hairball, much more than that occurred. Universal executives were told to plan for a June release next year. Universal marketing went into action planning a release strategy of three singles between late January and May to build interest and proposed bundling the album with ticket sales. This wasn't just Soldatti, but Bjornulf getting the same news. This was wha

Did they dabble? Sure. Have they downplayed their association with it over the past 30 years? Definitely. Are they servants of Satan? Only if you believe all hedonists are whether they know it or not (see Dylan's "Gotta Serve Somebody"). Anita and Marianne had or have far more to say about it, but were likewise smart enough to downplay it in later years. That said, Keith does s
