Quotespikenyc Quotekeefriffhards So what was the real reason they cancelled the tour, addiction problems again? Rumors I have heard is that Steven is having legal issues with a former underaged female he had on tour from a few years ago. Please keep in mind, this is only a rumor. That was last year, Steven was accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl twice in 1975. The legal iss

I doubt that they're recording. They're old men that enjoy rest and families.

Of course the band needs to know what songs to play. It'd make no sense to get surprised the moment the poll results are shown. I don't want to see a band play a sloppy, rumbling song that they've never or only rarely played before.

The time of "classic" live records is over IMO. Before digital times, there was little opportunity to get live material from current tours. Hence, live recordings made sense as people wanted to hear the band and their sound, new songs live; let's say to get an impression of how the tour was. Today, there are several recordings of any show, easily accessible on YT or other platforms

QuoteGlimmerest QuoteGasLightStreet The point of Miss You and Start Me Up is they have the exact same beat. Yet Miss You is considered "disco". SMU is possibly the only other Stones song with cowbell all the way through it. Remove the Master Musicians Of Joujouka part of Continental Drift and what is there? Is it the speed of light song that's great? It sounds like a PRIMITIVE

Obviously, the Black Crowes deserve being inducted, also Chubby Checker, Billy Idol and Joe Cocker. Oasis' promo tour can't be the reason to induct them. Years to wait for that ...

Barry Goldberg died yesterday aged 83. He was known as one of the best keyboard players. He played with old Blues legends such as Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters, also with Bob Dylan at the Newport Festival in 1965. QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotedadrob They wrote Silver Train for him. They didn't even write it for themselves According to Mick, it was just a jam that they could use for a song. They let Johnny cover it, though. Johnny's version of "Silver Train" is far better than the Stones' version

Basically, it's kind of similar story to the Stones. There was a point at which both Alphatians couldn't get along with each other any longer. Probably both egos were big enough to suppose being successful without the other. In both cases it didn't work because the project is greater than the sum of all participants. And it goes without saying that money has huge influence and is

Folks, calm down. As long as there's no official announcement, you may speculate to death. Does speculation give a kick to you? I don't get it ... hope you sleep well.

During the demonstrations in the fall of 1989 in the former GDR (East Germany) I shouted "Rolling Stones to East Berlin!". What should I've shouted if the Stones wouldn't have been existing any longer by then? ;-)

QuoteTopi Quoteslewan QuoteLien A rumour and a date Rumors are growing: The Rolling Stones will play in Munich in summer 2025 As our newspaper knows from a well-informed source, the biggest rock band in the world will play two shows in Germany next year: in Berlin and in Munich. Mick, Keith and Co. are expected to perform at the Olympic Stadium on July 12th. Something is rolling

I always rated the ER cover as one of the worst album covers ever - not only for the Stones. It's just aweful, and I never tried to find out what it's meant to be or who's to been recognized in those dubious images.

QuoteTravelinMan Weirdly the record is in the key of F, but they played it in ‘73 and ‘77 in E. I’m wondering if they sped the tape up to take up less space on the record a la Fingerprint File. The Stones have done that with several song, i.e. they dropped the key down by a half or whole tone. Obviously better to sing for Mick avoiding voice fatigue or even vocal cord problems. Other examples a

QuoteGasLightStreet This song is a D-side at the very best. I've never spent more time on listening to an LP to make it "work" than TSMR and this is one of the songs that makes me never bother listening to it. It's just rambling garbage 'we're being stoned' songs with a bunch of noise for the purpose of of just that. Which is why it makes a great EP with

It's a horrible tune on an uninspiring album. That's a musical LSD trip but far away from the psychaldelic pearls of that time. Gomper and The Lantern are some of the worst songs the Stones ever recorded.

A documentary released a couple of years ago (don't remember the name of the DVD I've got) Keith is asked if he or Ronnie is the better guitarist. His answer: "We're both pretty lousy but together we're better than ten others."

QuoteTravellinMan I would like something from the next album, a preview. Rubbish! They dropped Out Of Time due to its unknownness. How much sense would make playing songs absolutely noone knows?
