QuoteIrix QuoteAquamarine Both Mick and Keith have issued tributes. Indeed - . Since when is Keith into the Royals? Next knighthood? Indeed. It's either utter bollocks put out by a PR idiot, or... Keef has got caught up in what I can only describe as mild mass hysteria over the death, after a very long and successful life, of a member of an artificially elite group of pe

It has just been announced that AUSTRALIA is restricting the AstraZenaca vaccine to the over 50's. It's anyone's guess what the endgame to that will be given that supplies of any alternatives are extremely limited in Australia. Buried in the waffle accompanying the announcement were a couple of things.... Any (blood clot) risk associated with AZ is actually an order of mag

QuoteDoxa Quotejbwelda I think Jagger's would be mostly about where his dick ended up at any given time, and thats not all that interesting to me. jb Well, Jagger himself seemingly had similar account on that as you do. Namely, seemingly that was the problem with the manuscript of his autobiography - short on sex and that kind of dirty, private stuff, and that's why the publisher

Quoteredkev Thank you! Still enjoy anything like this no matter how poor the video and audio. Loved the shot of the people to the right of the stage near the end who were really getting into it. Crowds shots in general fascinate me from the 69 tour. Its such a contrast to a few years earlier where it was mostly screaming teenagers. You can sense the huge shift that was occurring with live events

Of course everyone's forgetting the TV special... "Being Mick" Right, it was 100% controlled by Mick, so it has to be unbalanced, but he did allow a scene when Pete Townshend and others were ribbing him about how he had no idea how to use public transport. Balanced against that was a scene where he was ranting about someone in his inner circle who had leaked stuff to the medi

Quotejbwelda >For comparison USA=44% 44% of the USA population has been vaccinated? That does not sound correct. jb My source is Scroll down a bit and select 'Table', and then you can sort on columns. If you sub-select Vaccinations you get 45.94% for USA, but if you select People Vaccinated you get 29.77%.

Quotegrzegorz67 30 blood clotting cases and 7 deaths amongst the 18 million who’ve received the AatraZenica vaccine here in the U.K. I got mine 2 weeks ago. ONE case reported in Australia. Moderately significant in that it's from a fairly low number of AstraZenaca vaccinations. (As of latest data only 2.4% of population have been jabbed, and that will include many who have h

There isn't one. My shelves are weighed down with valueless writings about Jagger - many of them nothing more than compilations of cuttings files from the tabloid scum. Mick has said he (personally) can't write one (he tried and gave up and had to return the advance), and he doesn't seem to be able to trust biographers ( and I don't blame him). (And yes, Bill German&#

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteHairball No question I love the Stones logo, and have many shirts, etc. with the iconic tongue, but it's the actual origins of the design that have always been questionable. Some have even mistakenly thought it was designed by Andy Warhol, but little did they know the origins can be traced directly back to the Beatles songbook. And while I've always loved the

How long ago is it, that the Beatles used that, far from original, half sliced boring image on their records? Was it celebrated? QuoteHairball Pasche went to look for his inspiration - right at the Aldridge tongue. Thanks, but the bit above is NOT what I was trying to say. We have no way of knowing what Pasche actually did in terms of actions. My point was, and is, that even if he didn't open Aldridge's book at all after the meeting(s) with Jagger he was without any doubt at all INFLUENCED by it (and a

QuoteHairball Along with the embellished Braun version, the similarities between the original Pasche image and the Aldridge design also seem clear to me. I'll focus on the Aldridge-to-Pasche part of this discussion. Pasche is a year older than me. I do not know where he was born, but we all know that he lived in Brighton (UK) in the mid-1960s. I lived in Brighton (UK) at the same t

QuoteHairball Given the massive popularity of the Beatles (even to this day), there's a high probability that even Pasche had seen the Aldridge version while browsing through the popular Beatles Songbook from '69. They're too similar to think otherwise. Whatever the case, thankful for the Beatles book and Aldridge, as without either the Stones design wouldn't come

A little bit of London geography for those who may not know. The Royal College of the Arts is next door to the Royal Albert Hall. The Royal Albert Hall is pretty close to the Victoria and Albert Museum (down Exhibition Road), and that's where the Pashe's artwork for the logo lives these days. ie All in quite a small area of London. Quotewinos watching it now live streaming, very moving tribute but opening the music with a video from Sting was disappointing.... It was interesting to see how central he was to so much. Anyone who missed it didn't get the chance to see Kylie on stage with (only) Ed Sheeran singing together. Not quite your normal line-up! :-)
