That iconic guitar riff utilizing that fuzz pedal sound was ahead of its time and made that tune. Satisfaction contains all the ingredients that make a great hit. Its catchy, has a great hook, and its lyrics resonate and makes a powerful cultural statement. Certainly, a signature and career defining record for the Stones.

Are there any really good sound quality live versions of 19th Nervous Breakdown from the 2021-22 tours that someone could download? Thanks a bunch.

QuoteRollingFreak I just got back from seeing the John & Yoko: One To One documentary that's out recently. Expected it to be fine, but its John so its gotta be passably good. I was absolutely blown away. o many things to take away: -what a great job they've done restoring that concert footage. It looked and sounded phenomenal and I truly hope they are planning to release the full

QuoteRollingFreak Tracks 2 has been expected for a very long time now. I think it was in his contracts that were released publicly like a decade ago? The most surprising thing about this is that its actually finally coming out. Steep price, I'll just stream it. QuoteSighunt I'm still waiting for the E Street Band arrangements of the Nebraska material to be released. C'mon alrea

Maybe some other Stones historians on this site can clarify, but I thought I read somewhere that the plan was for Mick to duet with Leon for Jack Flash, or was that just some rumor or myth?

More than just a tour, I hope for good health to the Rolling Stones. These guys have given so much to the world for 60+ years! Whatever happens next, I cant express enough how their music was the soundtrack of my life and had gotten me through good times and bad!

QuoteRobertJohnson Many people who have heard Johnny Winter for the first time and ever intended to learn the guitar will have thought to themselves: Leave it, you'll never be able to play like that. There is no way to master this instrument anywhere near as well as Johnny. He also had a blues feel that was absolutely unique (It's My Own Fault on Johnny Winter And Live). I would have li

QuoteBig Al Get Yer Ya’Yas Out is a special album to me. I purchased it relatively early on in my fandom, knowing very little of Mick Taylor, or these amazing guitar-skills that I had read about. To say that his soloing on Sympathy For The Devil didn’t knock me sideways would be an understatement; especially considering that I, at first, mistook Keith’s solo for Taylor’s! I was thinking: ‘hey, th

Quoteumakmehrd I find it crazy some of the lists omit Get yer Ya's Ya's out... "I've lost a button on me trousers" In looking at people's posts, the majority of folks did put Ya Yas on their lists, but not everybody ranked it near the top. My own personal opinion, out of the many live releases the Stones have bestowed upon us, I continually rank it as their s

QuoteStonedRambler Reading this thread it seems you all can’t comprehend that musicians love what their doing. Doing what you love and getting paid for it really well - what’s not to like? I think your assessment pretty much says it all. Musicians obviously must like what they do. Depending on who you are, you can get paid handsomely, and the adulation of the masses, along with all the perk

Quotetreaclefingers It's so hard to do, easier to come up with a short list of ones you don't prefer, but no need to go negative at the start of the year! OK, so Brussels Mocambo Ya-Ya's Four Flicks maybe the best live boxset ever, what an accomplishment I sort of see these as the BIG FOUR and then in no particular order: The Charlie Is My Darling Set (I understand

QuoteStonedRambler 1) Totally Stripped (three beautiful club shows in phenomenal quality) 2) Havana Moon (beautifully filmed, best Stones concert film I have ever seen. The album unfortunately sounds bad) 3) Sticky Fingers live at the Fonda (maybe the most special show of their later career) 4) The whole Four Flicks Boxset, especially Olympia 5) Hackney Diamonds live Edition (great rendition

2024 saw the release of two more great Stones live releases: Live at the Wiltern, and the more recent Welcome to Shepherds Bush. With the exception of their last studio album, Hackney Diamonds, released 18 years after A Bigger Bang, the Stones have primarily padded their record catalogue with live Vault/DVD/CD packages, many of which from my estimation are forgettable and/or cash grabs. I'm

My wife and I just got back from an evening showing of A Complete Unknown, the new Bob Dylan bio-pic. I really liked this movie. Very well acted by the entire ensemble. But special kudos to Timothee Chalamet who does a remarkable job of capturing Dylan and his music. It's no surprise that this movie is already garnering Oscar buzz. But my ultimate hope is that the movie will re-introduce a n

Is someone waiting for one more shoe to drop, or some other milestone that will trigger the, "okay, now is the time to make that transaction"? Do they not have the catalog? I mean, c'mon...Beatle

I went to Buffalo with my then 14 year old son just expecting the Stones to go through the motions but they more than exceeded my expectations. I've seen them over 40 times since 1975. It's still one of the best shows

Quotealfstone L.A. January 18th, 1973 Nicaraguan benefit concert gig in full soundboard, is now my holy grail. That version of No Expectations in particular. Smoking versions of Route 66, It´s All Over now, and Stray Cat Blues among others. I agree. This one just for the varied setlist at the time would be considered a holy grail release among hard core Stones fans.

I didn't buy all of them, but the ones I did pick up like Hot Rocks I & II, Beggars, Let it Bleed, Ya Yas, and Aftermath I was very satisfied with how they sounded sonically on my SACD player. Given today's evolving technology, they are still quite impressive to listen to. This was something that Abkco generally got right. However, with that being said, had they been able to release

QuoteMathijs Yes it would have mattered as the 1989 and 1990 tour was a triumphant sealing of their legacy, and of their claim to being the greatest RnR band in the world. Mathijs Agreed! In addition, we wouldn't have had what I consider to be the last great catchy Stones rocker hit (although certainly not in the same league as the monster hit that was Start Me Up)- Mixed Emotions!
