I thought I would share this with everyone of you Stones' or music enthusiasts who may live in or near New Jersey. I've been going to this store for over 20 years and have to say it's one of the best record stores (and one of the few surviving) I've ever been to. They carry everything you can think of from music DVD's, Cd's, Box sets, music biographies, t-shirts,

I can go for a new album with Mick Taylor. The last album, Bigger Bang, wasn't too bad. It wasn't a classic Stones album but it was at least good. Another thing I liked about the album is that with the exception of a keyboard player, it was basically all them. A new album with Mick Taylor on every song would be great. Rob

QuoteHis Majesty Your point about Andrew's credit is a good one and it shows that song writing credits is about business and who has control of the business calls the shots. Back to the music side of things... Brian could write melodies as evidenced by his A Degree Of Murder soundtrack, thus he could be part of the writing songs. His soundtrack being all instrumental matters not, al

The Brian Jones songwriting debate has been going on for some time now. It's currently going on right now on some Brian Jones Facebook page. Personally, I think if Andrew Oldham received co-songwriting credit for "As Tears Go By" because he changed the lyric from "As 'Time' Goes By" to "As 'Tears' Go By" and came up with the idea to add s

I think Brian meant it in fun and nothing more. Mike Douglas was a complete gentlemen. Even when the other guests on the show were criticizing the Stones he tried to defuse the conversation by thanking them for being on the show. Yes, the Stones had more like a small cult following at this time in the States. The Beatles and the Dave Clark Five had numerous hit records, and Peter & Gordo

The Mike Douglas show was pretty good. I've seen the whole episode, and it's pretty interesting how the other guests on the show made insulting remarks about the Stones. The older generation just didn't care for these guys at all, and to think this was their first American tour - they had nothing more than a cult following in the States at the time.

I'm pretty sure both songs were filmed at the same time and then edited into the show separately. Of course Brian plays harmonica on the two songs, but if they also did Tell Me then where is his guitar for the song?

Quoterob51 Has nobody else ever figured it out? The Rolling Stones had {one for real underground figure} TOM KELOCK in their employ. Tom Keylock was the only person close too the Rolliing Stones that was either pyhsically or mentally capable of committiong murder, period! Tom Keylock murderd Brian Jones/July3/69 Did you mean to post this on this thread or another one?

Quotestonesnow Hey, stones1962, nice clip! Never saw that one before. You can actually hear them play, even though it's an aborted take. Surprising how "live" television wasn't actually as live back then as one would think. I like that clip better than the finished version with all the screams dubbed in. Do you have any more clips from that show, that is, any more raw footage?

I just found this on YouTube. It is the clip of the Stones doing "Not Fade Away" when Keith breaks his guitar string that Bill Wyman mentions in his autobiography Stone Alone. Notice it's the raw footage before the network overdubbed fake cheering into the song for the televised version. Pg. 223 "We performed 'Not Fade Away', 'I Just Want To Make Love To Y

I feel like I'm in front of a firing squad here. I can't get over how people respond to something. First off I said to Gazza that I was not aware of the fact that McCartney was doing SNL this weekend - my mistake. Secondly, I said it would be better than having Lady Gaga, but apparently most of you don't think so. Okay, cool with me. Someone else said this shouldn't even be a
