Which gig do you mean? The music at Wembley was hard, fast and to some extent as PaintMonkeyManBlack says above, punky. The energy that leapt from the stage was blistering, It simply isn't accurate to call that a sloppy mess. Listen to the last minute of Let it Bleed on the Wembley 82 release. It's swinging and joyous. I have heard the Stones be a sloppy mess on bootlegs eg a versi

I was at Wembley 1982, Friday show, near the front. I remember being overhwhelmed by the raw power of the band. So many up tempo songs, building to a hell of a climax. Not sloppy.

I was in a group that were told we could support Bill Wymans Rhythm kings T the Holmfirth Picturedrome in 2008. Sadly it all fell apart on the day. We got free entry to the show as a consolation. The moment Eddie Floyd burst onto the stage (I had not known he was involved) is one of my favourite ever moments in a gig.

For the record, I’m not a conservative. I remember seeing the set lists from the Beacon and thinking ‘wow’ but it’s not stones at their best. Keith keeps playing that irritating lick that has plagued his playing this century. It’s been mentioned on here before, but I don’t know how to describe it in words. Kind of ‘da da DA da da’. I enjoy the video on YouTube - Jumpin’ Jack Flash from Char

1990 Wembley -Bill w’s last gig - The most electric atmosphere 2003 Wembley arena - they played great that night 1982 Wembley Stadium - My first show Since 2003 I’ve seen Sheffield in 2006 and Manchester in 2018 Both of which had their moments, but neither really hit the heights of their heyday. Of the tours I was too young to see 1971 is my favourite. Keith is on fire, Mick is really into i

My condolences to friends and family. It gives me pause, to think that a character in the Stones story like Stanley Booth, preserved in my mind as his much younger self, was in a nursing home somewhere. It underlines how lucky we are to be enjoying new music from his contemporaries the Stones, and anticipating more in 2025.

I will never forget my first listen to this album. I was nodding along, enjoying myself but it was Live By the Sword that got me up and dancing aroundthe room. I found it utterly joyous and I still do. I feel sorry for anyone who isn't grabbed by it the way I am, but that's the mystery of taste I suppose...

Just found Barbara Charone's review of Black and Blue from Sounds magazine April '76. Personally, I agree with almost every word, though if I remember rightly, she gave it six stars out of five!

Thankyou Rambler62, It is good to know that they DID record the Shirley and co song which is a much more uptempo tune than the Jimmy Reed song that appears in a fairly pedestrian run through on the Tattoo You bonus. I don't hear anything fake in Crazy Mama. Its rocks! I think side two of B&B is one of their strongest sides of music. Having said that, i can't stand 'Cherry

This is the album I've been hoping they would revisit. They don't need to alter anything about the sound of the record but‘Let's Do It Right’ a.k.a ‘Come on Sugar’ would be fantastic to hear in Black and Blue quality, and there must be plenty more lurking on tape. I wasn't aware of ‘Built that Way’ until it turned out upon the Fully Finished Outtakes leak, so who knows what el

Please point me at a live version of 'Shattered' that comes anywhere near the level of the album version. The last minute of the song, when Charlie builds up the momentum is one of their greatest recorded moments IMHO. But I agree about Rocks off. They (almost!) play the right notes but they don't get near the soul of the song. It's the same with Memory Motel,Worried Abou

My seat in the upper tier, section 330 at Leeds was a very reasonable. £50 + fees As I am recovering from a knee replacement operation, I contacted 'accessibility' at Leeds arena and, walking with a stick, I was upgraded, along with my partner to freestanding chairs at the front of a concourse overlooking section 102, A great view. They had wheelchairs to hire if I had needed on

I think it might drag in a stadium..... Maybe an arena or club show possibly. Given that only one or two deeper cuts steal into a setlist these says, there are an awful lot of great songs in the queue before Mick and Chuck consider Down in The Hole.

Not their strongest set of songs.
