It seems the BBC didn't show the Searchers set... Does anyone know why? And, more importantly, is there some other place to watch their set? Thanks!

As much as a adore Quadrophenia (the 73 album), and I do love hearing PT speak, I don't really like the look of this 'talking heads reminiscing' type of fake bonhomie. Has anyone listened, how was it?

Well said, Bv. This is my story about when Brian had my band's CD in his hand! I was in my 20s in the early 2000s, in an indie band, and obsessed with Brian and the BBs. My bassist bandmate and I went to the Pet Sounds show at the Royal Festival Hall. It was sensational. After the show we dashed to the back of the venue, hoping to see Brother Brian leave - and to give him our

This is exciting news! (although I'm not so pleased about the return on DJ on bass. The bass on HD was just one of the features that lifted it way above 'recent' Stones releases).

So many days (and nights!!) in my 20s in the early 2000s listening to Brian Wilson's genius music. Those amazing basslines, chords that shifted out of nowhere, the harmonies that touched your soul, and endless sugary hooks. Last time I saw him play was in Scotland in about 2018, I went on my own, and just sat there in tears for most of the set, I was just so moved and felt so much love.

Likewise, I thing Watt did a far better job in bringing out the best in the Stones compared to Was or self-producing. QuoteBarkerboy2 This is fantastic news! The best bet for them would definitely be to release the new album in November for the Christmas market, then hold Black And Blue Deluxe back til maybe next April or so. I am personally very pleased that Andrew is back for another albu

I wonder why the Stones are so precious about opening the vaults? Most other major acts - The Who, Beatles, Beach Boys (I'm sure you can name many more) - have given us huge amounts of extra stuff - 4-CD versions of Who's Next, a multi-CD box of a single song (Good Vibrations). Seriously, Mick, the market for this stuff is declining by the day. Just put it out as a digital down

Rod Stewart Cancels US tour Sir Rod Stewart has cancelled a run of concerts in the US after having the flu, just weeks before his appearance at the Glastonbury festival later this month. The 80-year-old singer said he was “devastated” to cancel or reschedule six shows in the US, due to take place over the next eight days. The dates are part of what Stewart has described as his last “larg

I agree about the cover art. Please not another variety of tongue. Given their amazing craggy faces, and sheer star quality, a close up, black and white photo, bathed in shadow, could look great. Can't see Mick going for it though!

It's a shame we don't have the option to 'block posters' here, as the long-winded, repetitive rants of several members are really tiresome and derail the threads. Also, everyone (GLS!) - don't feed the trolls! Stop replying and reacting to their nonsense and perhaps they will disappear. If the new album has even a few tracks of the beauty of Get Close, Angry, Drivi

I agree about Get Close. From the first time I heard it (from the leak) I loved the sax, the percussion, the maj7 chords - had a real 70s/BandB vibe about it that I hadn't heard from the Stones in many a long year. Great track

QuoteBig Al How can a reliable 'full list' ever be established? Did Keith employ someone (maybe Bill?) to jot down everyone who turns up? It seems an impossible, and somewhat odd, thing to compile, anyway. I agree! These guys were wasted at a never-ending house party half a century ago!

I like the craft that's gone into the HD songs. You can tell they worked them up a bit more than in recent times - interesting bridges, unexpected chords, instrumental break-downs.

I know you hate their current incarnation, GLS, but that's not a valid comparison. The man who wrote those genius songs is still there, and playing fantastic guitar (albeit inconsistently), and the guy who sung most of them is still in incredible voice (as I saw in March in London). Of course, they are very far from the monster juggernaut live act that paraded from 65-82, but there ar

I wonder if the 'farewell' tag will drum up more ticket sales? Seems they've been heavily discounting them on recent tours. I love The Who, but they seemed to have toured so much recently, to ever-diminishing returns. Also, what's with that crappy logo/poster? Looks like they let Rog loose on MS Word ><

Cheers, Big Al - let's get back to chatting about The Who! Have you seen them live? I saw them in 1989 (not a great time for the band, but an amazing time for a 14-yaer-old me) Then in 2022 or 2023 - in the RAH - an amazing folkie vibe, with accordion etc And last month, again in the RAH - fine, but not amazing.
