damn, I loved this guy. No one like him, never a compromise, and some of his music was great. Spent much of his life in the face of adversity and never backed down. For artistic integrity, you`d have to search far and wide for someone like him in today`s music or art. RIP

...the sound back in the hall was awful - muddy, full of echo, and with a constant drone, during the quieter passages, of that bloody air condition or whatever it was. A year ago, same venue, we had AC DC with none of those issues, it sounded excellent. - In Havanna, I was at the back of that huge field, and it sounded crisp and clear and loud. And in high-tech Germany, you`re being offered such

...strange. I felt the Spielberg version of "Start me up" was the best I ever heard. What`s wrong with those "Brown Sugar" details? It`s a ragged old rock`n`roll band, and they are playing much better than 1982. There you go. Keith holds up as best he can and carries the sound in a big way, if you can`t enjoy it any longer why not switch to the australian pink floyd show

with his thick arthritis-ridden fingers, it must be difficult to muster some precise and explosive intros to BS or SMU like he used to decades back, but once he gets into the song, what I hear is still a mighty old powerhouse, underneath all of what they´re playing. To hold down that sound on the stage at such a long show, it`s still a thing to admire, I think, and it`s all Keith`s rock`n`roll at

...my hairdresser says, Mick`s hair is real. Which doesn`t say who`s hair it is. (Charlie`s horses, when they die, can`t you make some of it?) -As for Ronnie, a couple of excellent hairpieces. Why he looks so gaunt - clearly chemo, he`s got cancer no doubt, a wonder he`s playing so good, desperately tough guy he is, not giving in

AC/DC at the end of the seventies sounded like a kindergarten choir someone here said- come on, I`ve experienced them there and then, with Bon Scott still. - I love what the Stones do today, but those Aussies were mean back in the day, powerful. Last year, even, with Axl. I do love the Stones, now, not to upset anyone.

...couple of weeks ago I saw him in Munich at the Tollwood Festival (nice little fair). He was great. Phantastic band too, he jazzed up his a bit glossy 80`s hits in a great way, and during the last numbers even played some mean rock n roll guitar. He seemed to be far from gone, was in fine voice, obviously takes care of his health and could do a lot more, if he`d find a reason to go out. Very sy

...agree, seen him in his later years with Robin Trower, am familiar with his phantastic work with Cream, also Bruce, West and Laing. Tough guy, good man. He once said: "bass players are the true arictocrats of the rock business". For him, that certainly rings true. - Even with a second liver, he was still kicking ass. I stopped counting. About every tour since 1973, several shows each. Last was Havanna. Probably could buy a bungalow in Tarzana for all the money I gave them - no regrets. Sorry about being such a big mouth

I was five years old, first music I ever heard was "have you seen your mother baby, standing in the shadows". When I grabbed a magazine with a photo of the early Stones - hadn`t known their looks til then - my Mom took it away from me, saying, you`re not interested in that bunch of horrible people. Strictly, not allowed. ...So, no, I don`t remember a world without the Rolling Stones...

...in Havanna in the days before the show, there was talk of about 250.000 to max 400.000. I could be wrong but, having been there, I don`t think it was much more than 500.000, if that. I don`t believe that field could have hold 1.2 mio, that`s ridiculous. A great show, but not THAT huge.

-just seen it, one big difference between movie and concert: the show sounded much better in reality, even though I was at the back of the field. The sound on site was phantastic, like an organic thing. In the movie, I hear the awful tinkling of Chuck, and the shortcomings of the guitarists, due to age and too much posing. Still, I enjoyd the film. Rambler and Gimme Shelter were as great as can

never felt the urge to look anywhere else. On IORR, there is always some information leaking through, that I don`t think you get anywhere else, if you can tell the so-so-insiders from those who just put it on, or just guess. And BV prevents a whole lot of crap, as straight as he is, so it`s easy to keep informed, and enjoy without having to wade through too much shit. -It`s often a good read,

for the Rolling Stones in the here-and-now, Havanna was an exceptionally good show. Obviously concentrated on avoiding mistakes, they were tight, but still loose and rocking. Up to the task, as it were. And the sound system was amazing, even at the back of the field where I was. -When the sun went down and that big orange moon came up in the dusty sky, there were thousands of cuban people dancin

Keith DID actually fall asleep during Fool to cry in Cologne in 1976, landing on his foot pedal, which gave an extensive feedback screech. He then stood up and played on as if nothing had happened. The way he looked, he could`ve been up for a coupla days, and the tune probably didn`t do a lot to keep him awake either...

the most interesting theory to me is, that someone played the guitar part that we know as an overdub to earlier parts that had been wiped out. The riff is simple and complicated at the same time, the player was probably hearing something else whilst inventing it that we don`t hear on the released track. That`s the feeling I get when I play it myself. I`m wondering why no one in this discussion c

point taken mr. Lem -I`ve seen the Who in 1975, those where the greatest shows I`ve ever seen, but still - where`s the option? I enjoyed the Stones in Havanna, but would never claim them to be the band I saw in 1973, which was out of this world. So, old Roger with his throat problems and an ageing Axl and an AC/DC at the end of their perspective, totter along. This is what we`ve got, if we`re s

...what lem motlow sais is quite funny, and I liked Axl`s singing at Coachella and think people should give this strange collaboration a chance, but- I`ve seen The Who on their current tour, and they DID kick ass. Roger`s a trouper, still a great singer and in a cultural position to air his judgment however he fancies. Still I think Axl is a funky idea. Why not wait for the shows? it might work

the havanna show was actually very good, would rate it among the best ones I`ve witnessed since the 90`s. Not to be compared with 1973 or 75, when they first hit me, but still great. I was back in the field, and the sound was phantastic. -The cuban people are just great, just coming along with the whole family, bringing their things and having picnic. It`s a fact that the cubans don`t need the S

Right. There is so much to do and see in Havanna alone. the beaches to the east, playa del este, seem worth visiting if you want to get out of town and not drive too far. Trinidad should be really great as I`m told by everyone who`s been to Cuba, but it`s 350 km. There`s some sort of highway, but you need a good new car. -Glad that I latched on to this thing early - flying in March 10, and will
