The dimension the Billy added also came out in backup harmonies and vocals. Melody is the perfect example. I think he also brought out the best in Mick. Billy was a part of the show and everyone played to him at times. No question about Nicky's studio contributions. I think he pulled it all together. Chuck seems more like a session tour player to me. Look what John Lord did f

Who do you think gave the Stones more groove, Ian Stewart, Nicky Hopkins, Billy Preston, or Chuck Leavell. I saw Eric Clapton last year and remember thinking who was the black guy pounding the keyboards I didn't even recognize him and the next morning when I read the review it was Billy Preston I like Billy Preston I think he added some real soul to sound and didn't he tour w

Are the Rotterdam rehearsals recorded? Is CYHTM on it? I would love to hear Carol again. I was standing next to the center stage for BTB tour when they played Little Queenie and Crazy Mama in Buffalo. Only problem a fight broke out and kind of distracted everyone including Jagger who was kind of keeping a eye on it himself. I always loved Melody. It has that kind of slow groove fee

I also thought the show was great. What surprised me most was how loud and raw they sounded. I wasn't looking to micromanage the performance, I just wanted to hear how they sounded and if I was entertained. I would have loved to see them do an entire show tonight. The guitars were loud, heavy, and fast. Which is what shocked me the most. I have been getting used to hearing them pl

Heres another one: You were still in school When you had that fool Who really messed your mind. And after that you turned your back On treating people kind. On our first trip I tried so hard to rearrange your mind. But after while I realized you were disarranging mine. After 40 years this is still relevant to many.

Any chance Mick will ride his prop from the 75 tour at halftime? That should get everyones attention. I'm sure that 30 years later its bound to be more realistic than ever.

Here is one verse of my favorites: So if you meet me Have some courtesy Have some sympathy Have some taste Use all your well-learned politesse Or I'll lay your soul to waste I feel that this is one of the best written songs by the stones especially for a song of this length. Add the music and you have an absolute classic!

As we all should know, you never doing anything until you are caught doing something. Users never admit being users unless they check into rehab, get publicly caught or photographed, or die. That's the way it is, beyond that everything is always assumed unless your the supplier.

Back in the 60's and 70's rock music was it. At least for young white kids, boys and girls. Of course most black kids that I knew listened to soul, motown. The 70's were full of one hit wonders on am radio. A lot of parents I knew liked oldies and am top 40. Looking back, I remember thinking I wanna listen to this or that because thats what the cool people listened

I think dance and rap music has really got a stranglehold on young kids today. But thats ok because it is what they want to listen to. For Christmas my 11 year old daughter give me a list of some cds she wanted. Now 19 Black eye peas Green Day (when I saw that one I ran out to get it, a rock band!! and she loves it) Bands, with musicians are a rare form today. Everybody wants t

Just wondering, Are American kids bigger Stones fans or are European kids in 2006? When I say kids I mean late teens and twenties. I have to be honest I really don't see much if any Stones fans in the younger generation. Nobody really cares or even listens to them. If not for stores like Target and Walmart selling Stones tee shirts they might not even be aware of them. A lot

I'm taking Seattle and the 4 points and under 47 total points. Final Score Seattle 23 Pittsburgh 17 Pittsburgh already thinks that they won the game. Jerome Bettis is all but accepting the MVP trophy. His mother is already auditioning for the Chunky soup commercial. Big Ben is in only his second year and first Super Bowl, ask any veteran QB if the pressure is immense. If this was P

Another thing I recall hearing on this tour is that Mick and Keith were at each others throats and hence the reason why the long lapse between the the 81 tour and the next one. That upset the normal groove of 3 years between tours.

Is this dvd something that the stones have final say on the content? Or is the being produced by label people? In this day and age anything is possible, so now that streamlined technology exists, one would think that super bands such as the Stones with plenty of capital reserves in tow and no shortage of sponsorships, would have people dedicated to just that cause, archiving and producing

I saw the 78 tour in Buffalo on July 4, the greatest American holiday, still have the stub, but I remember being disappointed because I felt like they played too much from Some Girls. Another thing that sucked was that they started the show in the afternoon, which it was a beautiful day but this is a band that must be seen in the evening if outdoors. Still Life had its moments, Imagina
