I don't think U2 did much touring this year compared to last year.

I remember my first concert was Van Halen in 81 and tickets were $9.50. The first concert I saw where tickets were over $20 was the Born in the USA tour in late 1984. I remember thinking what a rip-off! I think the first band to charge over $100 for tickets was the Eagles reunion tour back in the mid 90's. Since then, it's become the norm for bands to charge over $100. When I saw

They started their concert with Toys In The Attic. Other songs played included Crying, Tell Me What It Takes, Last Child, Dream On, and Love In An Elevator. They played a few others which I can't remember right now.

Just over 2 weeks ago the Stones finished their tour in Vancouver and last night, Aerosmith/Crue finished theirs here. I've seen both bands several times in the past so I kind of knew what to expect from them. GM Place, which is right across the street from BC Place where the Stones played, was full. They even sold tickets behind the stage. Probably 18000 or so in attendance. Motley ope

Watching a football game in a baseball stadium must have been weird as far as the seating goes. Similar situation to the Bears, who used to play in Wrigley. When did the Giants move into their current stadium?

I was just mentioning to a friend a few weeks ago that I can't believe how big Nickelback are, especially in the States. The band lives in Vancouver so they have a big local following here, too. I've seen many interviews with the guys and they all seem pretty decent, having grown up in a small town in Alberta. I don't dislike them but I don't really care for them either. A

Hey inopeng, I mentioned both Chicago Stadium and Wrigley on the first page! Blackhawks are coming on strong now and the road to the Superbowl goes through Soldier Field! I haven't been this excited about the Bears since the 85-86 season. Hope it's cold and snowing during their playoff game. Probably one of the most famous memories of Chicago Stadium in regards to hockey was the

I actually think that Blue Ray will catch on better than SACD. The reality is that the conventional CRT television is going to be phased out fairly quickly and the prices of LCD and plasma tv's is dropping rapidly. More and more people are now getting HD satellite tv because of the compatibility with the plasmas and LCD's. As the price of the Blue Ray as well as HD DVD drop, they

The only stadium outside of North America that the average Canadian would recognize is probably Wembley. Because of all the Stones tours, I'm familiar with the names of alot of other stadiums across the world. As far as North America goes, I would say Yankee Stadium and perhaps Wrigley Field and Fenway Park for baseball and maybe Soldier Field and Giants Stadium for football and the Rose

I wonder if BOC gets calls from the crowd for more cowbell during their concerts? Will looks alot like Eric Bloom (from that era).

Morrisey must be one of those huge in England/ Europe artists that very few people in North America listen to. I've heard of his name but I don't know any of his music. Guess it's similar to Robbie Williams. Not well known in US/ Canada but big in Europe.

Keith has no regrets going with Allen Klein (25x5 video). He said it was the price you pay for an education. Because of Klein, they eventually hooked up with Rupert Lowenstein, which was a good financial move. Michael Cohl has made them richer beyond their wildest dreams. I'm sure Mick would say that was the best decision the band ever made. They probably made more money this last tour

Don't really care for him (neither like nor dislike), or the vast majority of country artists. Absolutely hate that band Rascal Flats though.

Play With Fire from the film is the regular album version but Mick's voice seems to have a bit of an echo to it. I like the sound of it. Vancouver, can you please post the AL Orchestra on Hot Stuff if you have it?

I was going to say the same thing that Dan said. KISS has gone through lead guitarists the way Spinal Tap went through drummers! Vinnie used/uses the same type of offset Flying V guitar that the late Randy Rhoads used to use with Ozzy.

In their early club days, VH played tons of cover tunes. I've heard their versions of Sweet Emotion and Tush. Also heard several unreleased tunes from their early years which makes me wonder why they didn't release them. Eddie and Alex are pissed off with bassist Mike Anthony because he's been touring with Sammy and they've been calling it the Other half of Van Halen. Ed

They played Vancouver earlier this year. My older brother was looking forward to going until I checked online and saw that Alvin is not part of this current band (unless he's recently changed his mind).

I mentioned in the recent Vancouver show thread that Ricky Fataar, who plays Stig, the George Harrison equivalent, was the drummer for Bonnie Raitt's band. I bought the DVD with the outtakes. When I saw them doing the video for Ouch (Help), I couldn't stop laughing.

Looking at the list, I wonder if most people know where alot of these places are! I'm sure that most rock bands have never played any of these places. Pretty much named the whole African continent apart from South Africa. I recall a quote from John Lennon when the Beatles first came to America. A reporter asked how he found America. His response was something to the effect of hang a l

I saw him in concert a few years ago and yes, he still does his kicks, but I don't think they're as high as they used to be. Saw him with VH in 81, 82, and 84 as well as solo 86, 88, 91 and 95. Last time I saw him he did a jump off the drum riser at the end of the show during Jump. Obviously the riser wasn't nearly as high as Alex VH's, but it was still pretty good. Rumour

Hi Stonesgirl. I wonder why that little section was empty. When did you take the photo, between sets? I was referring to the section to your left in the stands beside the stage. My seat would have been on the floor in the bottom left of your photo. I was amazed that they didn't even search you at the door. I was thinking of taking a disposable camera but didn't get around to buyin

One last comment. After Keith finished playing Connection, he goes to the microphone and says, "That's rock and roll"! Glad to see the comments about Ricky Fataar. Didn't realize he was a drummer.

Saw Motorhead in Vancouver in early 1982 on their Iron Fist tour. Fast Eddie Clarke had just left the band about a week or so prior in Toronto so Brian Robertson was hired. They did an autograph session at a downtown record store and nobody knew who he was. I got Lemmy and "Philty" Taylor's autographs. Their stage was the same as the cover of No Sleep Til Hammersmith, with th
