This was my correspondence with TM and I did as they told me and it worked and has worked in 2019 in the US as well:

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting us and I am happy to assist you. The Lucky Dip tickets may not be transferable. Please check your order and see if the Transfer button is lit up. If not, it is not transferable. This is because the Lucky Dip tickets are will call only. If you want someone else to attend like an alternate pickup please provide their first and last name. They will also need your card that you used (physical or photocopy of it) order number and their ID. Please reply back if you have any other questions. It was my pleasure to assist you and thanks for being a fan! Have a great day.

Alright, all good. Alternate pickup instead of actual transfer over to another TM account. Anyhow, glad you found a buyer!

Thanks for this info.
Surprised that TM is allowing you to add an alternate name for the pickup,
but its nice to know that they will accomadate this type of transaction
now with all the corresponding credit cards, order numbers and ID.
