can anybody upload the "viper" recording on wetransfer
You don't want the skinnoed version? lol. I would suggest the bcironmaiden source. It is recorded with better gear.
What does better equipment have to do with better recording? The quality of the equipment is only one factor in a good recording, which involves much more than using expensive equipment correctly .....
have you ever recorded a show? There are 3 primary things to a good recordings. Quality of gear is most important followed by sound engineer and location which includes people around you.. If you are going to tell me all things being equal a phone recording is going to sound as good as a recording with top quality gear you do not know what you are talking about.

You can compare Live recordings to Photography.
Ears and Eyes.
Your eyes could be satisfied with an Iphone shot,(while some other like me) prefer to be satisfied with a Nikon Dslr shot. The same goes for the gear used in recordings.
For what it worth...

I recorded hundred of shows since the seventies, edited and posted them also .....

Just listened to the Drgiggles1 recording and...well I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth but it doesn't sound great to my ears, little separation (sounds almost like mono) and pretty distorted. Is it me or has there just not been a very good recording for the tour so far ? Or is the sound just bad in these stadiums ? If anything the YT recordings sound better, possibly because the video is "distracting" ?

Recordings have been made at least comparable to past tours so far. There are at least multiple high quality sources from 5 of the first 7,
And as dcba I do agree regarding analog to some degree. Some recordings made by Mike Millard aka Mike the Mic in the Socal area in the 70's and 80's are stunning. Early digital technology was far from perfect but I made the jump earlier for better dynamic range, no loss of quality including speed over generations and on different devices. Using current digital equipment is far superior and so damn easy these days.
Going back to the Dr.Giggles source, he was in the third level. It is really hard to make a good recording there but he did what many did not. He got his gear in and recorded the show. Most of the sources I know of were recorded from the floor or pit. Until better sources surface its what you got.

I made comments about this subject in the second New Jersey thread. Maybe it's better here. Basically I don't like the high opinion some tapers seem to have. It's fine if they want to perfect their skills and share their work within a circle of friends, but I don't like when they brag about having this stuff. Why not keep it to themselves if they're not willing to share. Who likes to know about something they can't have? Then they complain about others re-working their recordings or even selling them. Why not sell them yourself? Bottom line, please stop talking about recordings you want to keep out of circulation. That's all, rant over.

Selling recordings and making money off of it is just not cool. It also may get a visit from the FBI. I k ow someone who experienced that. I don't want to get such a visit. This is why Peter Grant had his people break bones. If people didn't buy recordings for the "artwork" there would be no market for it. Sorry (not sorry)if you disagree with me. If the remastering nonsense wasn't going on more recordings would be out as well. By encouraging that you and others are encouraging the behavior you dislike. You can't have it both ways.

There are more things of value than money. Especially true with people who have enough money. Assuming you did not steal them you own your equipment and the blank tape. You pay for access to the show. That does not come with the right to tape the show or the right to exchange it for something of value such as money, tapes of another show from another taper, or status in the taper community. And as to remastering, you ought not to assert control.over something you do not own to begin with. The performance. It is not your intellectual property. Plus when you make your tapes accesible you know they will end up on bootlegs willy nilly since you do such agood job. When you say selling is not cool you are offering a distinction that is not a difference. Plus Plus your posts are bordering on spam.

daspyknows, wonder what you really know. Maybe change your name and read the comments thoroughly before you answer. You seem to skip over the important points like control and sharing. I'll say it one last time because it's getting stupid. Keep your tapes private to your circle and stop complaining about why you can't share them. Enough already.

Who is complaining and whining? You are..... I am sharing with people I trust. Trust is earned. You are assuming it's control, it is not. It is trust.
