Here’s Tom Petty from Fall 2006. This was his homecoming dance; his first show in his hometown in a long long while. He and the Heartbreakers are in great form here. One of the songs, “Southern Accents”, was covered by Johnny Cash. Cash said it was probably one of the best songs ever written that caught the essence of being from the American south. It was the first time in years that Petty played the song in concert. Having family roots back in the southern Louisiana and Mississippi area, I understand the sentiments of the song every time I go down home for a visit. Stevie Nicks, the only honorary Heartbreaker in the world, joins in on a few numbers. The show is very well recorded. These are all wav files. Enjoy!
