For Quad, Id go with the Philedelphia Spectrum Show 1973. Its not complete (missing 5'15, Love Reign O'er Me, and Punk and Godfather) but it is a soundboard.
Live at Leeds Complete
Dayton 71, great audience recording (IMO better than some soundboards of the era)
Toronto 75 (same as above, better than some soundboards)
Houston 75 (almost complete soundboard (missing 8 seconds of squeeze Box, and Tommy's holiday camp, although the latter is available on the DVD of the show)
Those would be my top pics. Once you get into them more
CHicago 79 is a good choice, post Keith Moon era, but great show
Toronto 82 is another good one from the post Moon era, soundboard and great performance
As for the 60s Who, the unofficial BBC sessions surpass the official ones

Those are my recommendations
(As for the quad material, with the exception of Philly 73, other boots from that tour are spotty in sound depending on what your looking for). Detroit 73 would be the best sounding nearly complete boot of Quad live with Moon (only missing I Can't Explain).

Not from the Quadrophenia period, but I would say Amsterdam 1969 is a good one.

More information can be found here: [www.bigozine2.com]

Quite possible the greatest Who performance ever. They sound angry and the playing is dynamite.

Fillmore East 69 is also great.

Sundown Edmonton (London) 73 was my first Who show and it was a great gig but the bootleg of the show is not such good quality. Which this was available as a soundboard.

And does anyone have Hammersmith Odeon December 75. I went to all three shows and there is talk of a boot of one night but I've never found it.

Another good whoo bootleg is 1969 Wintertime Trip which includes a decent chunk of the 11/2/69 board mix from McDonough Gymnasium at Georgetown University.

The links to good reference sites is a good place to start. Also, since longliverock.org disappeared, I tried to list some links to good quality shows from the Moon-era. Enjoy.

Hi--I have the "Tales of The Who"--there aren't too
many shows during that period. Cause of the problems
with the back tape effects--etc. Back in the day. I've got
a list I can E-mail you. Ourmets@yahoo.com
Have a good one. Troy
