OT: R.E.M. 6/27/84 Seattle, WA
For Cafaro and any other R.E.M. fans here.
This is basically the R.E.M. equivalent of Brussels '73. It's a King Biscuit recording and the band's performace is stellar - one of, if not the best R.E.M. shows ever. From the "Little America" tour, supporting Reckoning, their second LP.
My personal faves are the Gardening At Night/9-9/Windout block, the killer cover of So You Wanna Be A Rock N' Roll Star, and the tremendous (and unreleased) Skank.
In short, this is R.E.M. when they were a bunch of indie-label, beer-fueled speed freaks and long before Michael Stipe crawled up his own ass.
Probably my favorite live recording by any band not named the Stones - enjoy!
