Guyz i got a surprise!!!!! This the complete show of that fantastic show in NY during the Station To Station 1976 tour! The Thin White Duke at his best! bowie is fantastic scary soulful lost in his paraonoias!
this is bowie in 76! (already posted these pics but i love'em too much!)
Thanks mucho for posting this. I was at the Pittsburgh show. You are right about the dark, paranoic vibe of David's music at this time. I dug it immensely. If I recall I spent the night in the Pittsburg jail for public intoxication (post concert partying) Those were fun times.
Saw Bowie on this tour in Atlanta. Love the Dali film that open the show. Bowie's use of lights that night (Just stark lighting) really added to the shows atmosphere. Love the guitar players can't remember them.....Earl Slick?

I don't think so. Earl Slick took Mick Ronson's place on the Diamond Dogs tour. (I was at the Tower show in Philly) prior to Station to Station even being recorded. Slick plays on the Station to Station record as well. In fact he, like Taylor, claimed he should have gotten co-songwriting credit on a lot of that record as there were a lot of guitar jams on it that Bowie subsequently sang lyrics to. But you are correct that Slick bailed Bowie on this tour. He seems to come back to Bowie when he's out of money or work or both.
Thanks for your correction, Duane. I'm no expert on Bowie, that's true, but I knew he didn't play in 76 or 78. He's really doing a great job in 83 though. He's moving like Nils Lofgren in the early 80s. My bad, though.
