POST: The Rolling Stones 1989-09-01 Veterans Stadium, Philadelphia, PA

Was going through my old tapes the other day and found my very first Stones concert I recorded, their second show in Philly, September 1, 1989.

I apologize in advance, this is a POOR quality recording, but mostly complete (except for where I had to flip over the cassette). There are better versions out there I’m sure, I am simply uploading mine here for posterity, since I’ve never shared it and I have the only copy. Again, I consider it of POOR quality; the sound is noisy and distant. If I remember correctly I used a Sony cassette recorder with built-in mic.

Thank you so much for sharing!
It's true, every recording has its own story
and deserves to be in the archives!

Wasn't that the show went the lights went out?

No, that was the night before (opening night of the Steel Wheels tour, August 31, 1989). The sound goes out towards the end of Shattered (a song which they dropped from the setlist the next night).

On the 9/1 show, Mick refers to the prior night’s incident at the beginning of Rock and a Hard Place, “…hope things are going better tonight, we don’t have a power breakup, shall we say…”

Quality does not matter here, but the fact that another piece of Rolling Stones history was saved by someone does.

Thank you for your effort and generosity in recording and sharing the show instead of letting the tape rot in your basement/attic. This is appreciated.

The CDR 'We Aint Thru Yet' Is mine made from a Cassette recording I received way back in the day in a snail trade. I look at my primitive artwork at the time and think well thats the best I could do.

Most of my tape recordings from trades If I converted to CDR would go out as an AM PRODUCTIONS.Release,
.
