Ron Wood: a private view

It seems that Ronnie Wood planned a video documentary called "Ron Wood - A Private View" in 1982, which has never been aired (or even completed). Many parts of the source videos, mostly shot by Mark Pines, appeared on archive.org quite recently. Most of the circulating videos are very compressed, so it was the idea to get these in best quality. It took endless hours to download mega-files with 10 -70 GB per film and to separate uncompressed audio. These files were partly in mono, partly silent but mostly in better quality than all we had of this before. For this series, only the musical content was of interest.

Thanks to my two accomplices for their help, advice and inspiration.
fourth part:
An Evening With Ron Wood

7th January 1983
New York City, Town Hall

In this part you will find sequences coming from the special show that Ronnie Wood held at Town Hall in New York City. On this special event he did everything on his own: talking about music, playing live and answering to the questions from the audience.
On this compilation I kept the essential musical parts.

On this version the tracks were edited, declicked, amplified and some flaws (coming from the recording) were deleted.

First set (taken from Town_Hall_1982-01-078_M74_Reel_2-1)

to a video of him (gtr, some voc) and his father Arthur Wood (voc, harm), filmed at Ronnie’s rented house on August 21, 1982.

04 – FAR AWAY EYES -RW sings and plays pedal steel along to the Rolling Stones
promotional video
05 – warm-up and LET ME LOVE YOU -RW on bass (between both segments 30 seconds
are deleted)
06 – EMOTIONAL RESCUE -RW accompanies on bass to the promotional video
(with a 15 second patch coming from another source)
07 – short bass instrumental by RW
08 – banter ‘story about I Can Feel The Fire’ and warm-up
09 – AROUND THE PLYNTH – RW on slide guitar
10 – banter ‘me and my friends’ end of the 1st set and short intermission

of an extract of the Checkerboard Lounge video featuring The Rolling Stones, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells
13 – banter Black Limousine story cut by the audience

These are the versions used on the great reworked video which will also be presented separately.
These merges were built with the video rip on the right side (cf. CD1) and on the left side with a version posted by a fan (‘K’) years ago! Thanks to him for agreeing me to use it.

Note that both recordings are incomplete but the gap is not at the same time: I tried to rebuild
it: it’s now merged until 3’41 then 15 seconds solely from the audio source and the end solely from the video source.
