The 1992/93 American shows
This is a series dedicated to Keith Richards’ shows with The X-pensive Winos in the US, Argentina and Canada in late 1992 and early 1993.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.
Line-up: KR (gtr, voc)/Steve Jordan (dr, bass, bvoc)/Charley Drayton (bass, dr, bvoc)/Ivan Neville (keyb, perc, bvoc)/Waddy Wachtel (gtr, bvoc)/Sarah Dash (voc)/Babi Floyd (bvoc, perc)/Bobby Keys (sax, perc).

Several versions are circulating, all coming from the same recording but in different qualities.
The “Real Cool Cat” and “New Year’s Eve” versions have variations in stereo channels volume. Nzb’s version lack this problem because it’s a single channel duplicated but it’s saturated and muddier from the end of “Eileen” onward. I decided to keep nzb’s version until “Eileen” but from the gap (at 5’22) I used the “Real Cool Cat”-version.
To upgrade the sound, I also converted both channels to a duplicated single channel but only until “Will But You Won’t” because after that, the sound fluctuations disappear.
Note that “Too Rude” is cut in two parts (probably due to the tape flip).
To complete the volume, I added the short “Runnin’ To Deep” rehearsal segment broadcast by US CNN TV on ‘Showbiz Today’ (also with an interview from KR by Mark Shearer, backstage at The Academy).
Last but not least, I include a couple of tracks that were aired on the TV program ‘Hard Rock Cafe New Year’s Special’ (hosted by Jay Thomas) which was broadcast by US CBS TV.
I added this incomplete but interesting source including the journalists animations (‘Take It So Hard’ & ‘Time Is On My Side’) and even though that some of the tracks are edited (‘Happy’ & ‘Going Down’).
The first 6 tracks come from a lossless version sent by nzb. ‘Going Down’ come from “Rock N’ Roll Babylon” (DGCD 021-2) which has the better sound and a better end (not edited the same way as the one sent by nzb).
Note that the other tracks from this version and the release called ‘Time Is On My Side’ (BRCD 029/030) are from 28 December 1992 and not from 31 December as stated on their covers).
As usual all the infos are coming from Nico Zentgraf's Rolling Stones Complete Works Database: [
