POST: Mick TAYLOR with Mayall's BB - Springtime 1982 - Vol 16 - 1982.06.20 - GLEN COVE
Mick Taylor
with Mayall’s Bluesbreakers
in springtime 1982
This is a series dedicated to Mick Taylor’s shows with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers in May and June 1982 when they toured California and the US East Coast.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.
Line-up: MT (gtr; some keyb)/John Mayall (voc, keyb, harm, gtr)/John McVie (bass)/Colin Allen (dr)

11 - My Time After Awhile (incomplete)
12 - You Never Can Be Trusted
For this show we have two incomplete recordings.
source #1: contains the 5 first tracks from the show, is lossless and usually called ‘soundboard version.’
source #2: contains the 5 first tracks (but ‘My Time After Awhile’ is incomplete) and the 4 last tracks. It’s an excellent audience recording but lossy and running in the wrong speed.
Note that probably around 3 songs are still missing from the set.
I like the second source very much. Because the recordings were incomplete, we offer here both versions for you. On the first CD will be the more complete audience version and on the second CD the soundboard version and a merged version from both sources (both were mono but this way it seems like a stereo recording)… of course ‘My Time after Awhile’ is incomplete because of the truncated track of the audience source.
A comparison with the Passaic-recording showed that the audience source had to be decelerated by -3,5 to -4,5%.
I declicked, both versions, equilibrated the channels (+5 to 10% for the left channel) and I reworked the transitions between the tracks that now started with the songs.
On the first version the left channel on ‘An Eye For An Eye’ was altered from 0’57 seconds onwards: I corrected it by duplicating the right channel.
On the soundboard source I deleted microgaps between the tracks.
A great show to close this great series.
