POST: Mick TAYLOR & Mayall's Bluesbreakers - Winter 1982 series - Vol 08 - 1982.01.29 - SYDNEY
Mick Taylor
with Mayall’s Bluesbreakers
in winter 1982
This is a series dedicated to Mick Taylor’s shows with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers in January and February 1982 when they toured on the US West Coast, in Australia, Hong Kong and Hawaii.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.
Line-up: MT (gtr)/John Mayall (voc, keyb, harm, gtr)/John McVie (bass)/Colin Allen (dr)
Note: Ridin' On To Santa Fé was played in an early version entitled Rock 'n' Roll.

Our versions were coming from the same source but not the same transfer. Nzb’s version was running at the correct speed (+3,5% compared to mine) but until ‘Road Show’ it was in mono, when mine had the left channel a little different from the right (the sound was a little more spacious).
So I decided to use my version until ‘Road Show’ after a speed correction (with exception of the 15 last seconds in ‘My Time After Awhile’). For these tracks I added a little more treble, amplified the sound, equilibrated the channels, deleted microgaps and I reworked the transitions between the tracks that now start with the song.
From ‘Road Show’on our versions were identical except for the speed so I used nzb’s version here. For these tracks I only amplified the sound an reworked the tracks’ transitions.
Note that ‘My Time After Awhile’ is here a little more complete (15 seconds) than on the other versions but remains incomplete.
For the front cover I reworked a picture from a tee-shirt sent by ‘mtripoli’: thanks M!
