The Japanese shows
23rd - 26th October 1999
This is the fifth part of the series dedicated to Mick Taylor's shows in Japan. It contains the short 1999 tour.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.
26th October 1999
OSAKA – Big Cat
26th October 1999: Osaka, Japan, Big Cat
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Max Middleton (keyb)/Kuma Harada (bass)/Robert Ahwai (gtr)/Jeff Allen (dr)
01 - Secret Affair
02 - Twisted Sister
03 - Losing My Faith
04 - Late At Night
05 - You Shook Me
01 - Goin’ South
02 - You Gotta Move
03 - Blind Willie McTell
04 - Band introduction and encore break
05 - Can't You Hear Me Knocking
Our versions were coming from the same recording, but for one time our version (lossless) is better as nzb’s one (that seems to be lossy).
I rebalanced the channels (+10% to the left) on CD1 and “Goin’ South” and amplified the sound a little bit.
I deleted a little noise on “Secret Affair” at 8’14 and in some silent parts.
It’s a very good mono recording a great way to close this mini-series and as Mick Taylor says at the end of “You Gotta Move” …“see you in the next century”… in fact it became 2009.
As usual all the infos are taken from The Mick Taylor’s Complete Works Database by Nico Zentgraf: [www.nzentgraf.de
