There is absolutely a loss when you convert FLAC TO MP3.

Think of it this way:

FLAC IS A HOUSE THAT HAS TEN ROOMS.

MP3 IS A HOUSE THAT HAS THREE ROOMS.

YOU CANNOT FIT THE FLAC HOUSE INTO THE MP3 HOUSE WITHOUT SQUISHING IT ALL INTO SQUISHY BITS.

AND CONVERTING THE MP3 HOUSE TO THE FLAC HOUSE JUST MEANS YOU'LL HAVE THREE ROOMS OF SOUND AND SEVEN EMPTY ROOMS TAKING UP SPACE.

@HEILOOBAAS Thanks, I figured it'd be something like your analogy, but I'm new to the FLAC world, so I'm just now learning it.

I'm sure many on this board have gone through the dreaded upgrade/replacing of their entire MP3 library to FLAC/Rar etc. Surely a daunting & time consuming task. Gotta start somewhere.

Do you have any info/input on any of the songs on the list?

It is original Lossy sourced so it will stay that way. If someone has it in flac
please feel free to share it.

Other than they have not been booted for the most part?

I'm pretty sure "Biscuit Blues" was listed on "Paris Results 2" and sounded like a fairly shapeless blues instrumental.

FLAC is better than MP3 in audio quality but files are bigger too

I feel like we're back in 1998... C'mon, storage space is dirt cheap these days. MP3 should be a thing of the past.

"Acoustic Blues"...is this the official title? (or just a jam session)

My priority is always the quality and not the size of the files. I don't convert FLAC to MP3. What I previously said was just for information in response to KevinM. Deciding what his favorite format is his choice.I have no problem with that. Personally, if I ask someone for a file I want it with the highest quality no matter what size it has.

Re: The RAREST of the RARE Rolling Stones Songs

update:

Brown Leaves & Brown Smear are 2 different Some Girls era outtakes.

Rotten Roll, I believe is aka Munich Hilton. It's listed as 'Rotten Roll' on ENG-5001, Eva Records: 'Accidents Will Happen'. also on: Sunbird & Dragonman/Sunbird 701ABCD. Whereas on the other editions, it's listed as 'Munich Hilton' (10min+ version)...so unless they just sub'd it one for the other, than they're the same tune, different title.

can anyone confirm?

I think Karnbach listed a few more in his book, I'd have to pull it out.
