Thank you. This is a strange thing with the howling guy. Wonder, how he did this. Must be the one, that took the recording and made it public...

Thank you for sharing.
I noticed I miss 3 audience recordings for this date, anyone can help me?

Source#2
2012-12-15 Rolling Stones Prudential Center Newark, NJ AUD [mrsaureus]
DPA-4060 +PCM-M10
Lineage: Stealth recorded and minimally produced by mrsaureus, sitting in Section 10, Row 14, Seat 15, which means about halfway back from the lip of the stage to the back wall of the floor, and about half way up the first bank of seats off the floor, on the right side of the stage. Good sightlines and good sound. Core-Sound High End Binaurals (DPA-4060 capsules) to Sony PCM-M10 (48 kHZ, 24 bit), WavePad Sound Editor to provide modest global amplification, cut into songs and SoundForge to convert to 24 bit/ 48 kHz FLACs. If people want it, I can share a 16/44.1 version. This is an audience recording that aims to document the experience of being in the crowd at the show, and features occasionally loud but appropriate crowd noise. This is the first time this recording is being shared.

The broadcast of the show was with 5.1 surround sound. The howling guy was in the rear (surround) channels. Most releases are a stereo mixdown of all (front + rear) channels, so the howling remains there. This one is only the front channels, so the howling is not there. BTW, there is not much else in the rear channels, except some audience noises, so you miss nothing!

FYI (I'd forgotten about this, it's pretty funny)

Captain Acid's version (used on MfG-068) did NOT have the howling guy.
DAC-131 did have the howling guy.

The howling guy was on all the video broadcasts I have - I suppose that is not very helpful because I suppose all versions were from a broadcast, but I do not know the source for the non-howling guy version. Maybe falo remembers?

I have explained it above - the howling guy comes from the rear channels. If you want to hear him alone, please: [we.tl] grinning smiley

Yes, I stripped the back channels from the audio and used it for MfG68 and Acid used this version for his remaster.
