Besides the satellite stream that got "captured" was not HD right? The broadcast was but it could have been upscaled...it's unlikely they would have uplinked both an SD and an HD stream, the latter would have been enough surely?

You mean what was broadcast on BBC HD? Any reason to think it's not upscaled SD? I mean why would they send both an SD stream and an HD stream via satellite from Glasto to London and since someone grabbed the SD stream...
