It wasn't an email. I kept checking my shortcut to HC, but it was to the torrents page, not the home page, eventually I got a 404 page with the forum address on it '[thehcforum.com&]; so I checked there and found the message.
But it seems that if you go straight to the HC Home page you get that message anyway.
None of the main torrent sites have advertising do they?
I'm not sure why that is, but they all seem to rely on donations.
But as Munichhilton says it's probably always the same few rather than the many that pay for them.
Yes the email address is the PayPal account name, it was what I used and it seemed to work ok. It would go to Shareef I imagine if you sent an email to it.
The link isn't really meant to be a link (the system here at IORR made it into a link because it's an email address) it's the PayPal account name that you send funds to.

I'm just sat here doing windows updates on my laptop, one at a time trying to find out which one won't work and all I've got time to do in between clicking buttons and restarting is watch IORR on my desktop PC (this one)

As far as I know the only way to make a donation is through PayPal. (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong about this)
And the email is used as an account name, so think of it as an account name rather than as an email address.

They are usefull though, lot's of places accept PayPal and it means you only have to give your bank or credit card details to them instead of everybody you deal with. (I'm sounding like a salesman again, wonder if i'm in the wrong job?)
