There popped up a 2nd source at Dime yesterday of the concert at the

Thanks to ademotte for his generous share there.

Comments:

Amazing show, in my opinion the best of their three shows during a week-long stay in Chicago. I had originally not planned to post this because I was continually tinkering with the mix; ultimately I decided this is worth sharing with the community despite the fact that there's already a source in circulation. I had nobody around me (except for another taper) for the majority of the show, so there is zero crowd noise for the bulk of the recording. Sound was great and the mix was perfect; I have been playing with this recording to get it to match the sound to my ears that night, and by this point I think it sounds pretty good.

In terms of performance, I thought this was great -- the "Shine a Light" web poll winner was fun (if a little shaky), the Sheryl Crow guest spot was a great rendition of a great song, and Mick Taylor spent about 30 minutes on stage across his three songs (one of them being an outstanding "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'") -- what's not to like?

I don't wish to make a judgment on how this compares with the version already on Dime -- I thought the other version was more distant and had more crowd noise, but perhaps better sonic range. One could make a case for either version being preferable. I figured there would be no harm in giving another option for the hard-core fans.

Feel free to do what you like with this recording (cross-post it anywhere you wish, but don't sell it); however, if you do choose to remaster and repost, please document what you changed about the original files. Mp3 samples are included in the comments.
