1972.07.05 Goin' Back To The Roots - The Scope Norfolk Vinyl-rip
I recently downloaded this from dime and put it here for those who can't do torrents
original uploader wroteThis is a recording of the Rolling Stones at The Scope, Norfolk, VA, July 5, 1972. It is transferred from an old bootleg LP on the Rubber Dubber label called "Goin' Back to the Roots." This is not to be confused with the Vinyl Gang CD of the same title and date. VGP used a different recording. This recording is better quality but incomplete. I rate it as VG+ for side 1, tracks 1-6, and VG for side 2, tracks 7-12. The vinyl is not as well pressed on side 2, or possibly the taper changed location. The original LP fades out between some but not all songs. I duplicated its fades and eliminated the silences between songs. If you want gaps like the LP, use the supplied cue sheet. The LP does not state the exact recording location but relocates Sweet Virginia to the first song on side 1 as a hint, I suppose. I have relocated it to its correct location as track 6.
For the transfer I used a Music Hall MMF-7 turntable with an Ortofon OM20 cartridge, an Adcom GFP-565 preamp, and an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 sound card. I carefully reduced LP clicks, adjusted levels, and faded in and out using Cool Edit Pro 2.1. I did not use any noise reduction or EQ.
Presented in FLAC 1.1.4. Scan of LP front cover is included in case someone wants to attempt to use it for artwork.
