Fair WARNING guys about torrent downloads!

Hi to all IORR's fans!

There is no doubt, some guys doesn't like that we could download
for our great pleasure some hard to find CD or DVD on torrents.
I've had a really bad experience which begans 2 days ago.
I 've started to download "Les rolling stones aux abattoirs" on zombtorrent
2 weeks ago.
On last sunday, i was hacked during the night and my PC restarted.
Yesterday, i've had the bad surprise that i was infected with
this f.....g (trojan-wareout-malware) called "kernelfaultcheck".

Nothing to do to erase it except reinstall all the PC.
Great gift !!!!!
Hope you'll don't have the same thing.

It's a malicious dll called armcex.dll

and it runs in windows system 32
After the infection, your pc turns very slowly and restart

Get off of my cloud!

Buy a Mac ;-)

The first thing is that I suspect this has nothing to do with the torrent but the fact that you were connected to the web. If it was a particular torrent the other seeds & peers would also be infected & would start shouting about it. Doesn't matter what you're doing when connected, you're always open toinfection.

Secondly, I suspect a complete re-install was unneccesary, in cases like these the first thing I do is a google search. I just typed in 'kernelfaultcheck' & lots of links showed up, I didn't check them but there were so many that there must be some help there.

Make sure your anti-virus, firewall, & all your other safe-surfing equipment is all up to date. Kaspersky is very good anti virus.

Don't give up torrenting

I do recommend Symantec security software. My computer is equipped with it for years and I never had any problems with trojans, viruses or whatever malicious attacks from the internet and my PC is connected with the net at least five days and nights a week. Or buy a Mac as RollingStoner suggested.

HM,

Ludwig is right on the money about Symantec.

Thanks for the heads up.
