Almost like the IORR version, but if possible a little more desperate

Great stuff, Ringo! This live version is so much better than the Love You Live official version. Wow. The studio version is also superior to the officially released version...it is the exact same track except it is differently produced. Rawer, rockier, more dynamic. Awesome. Could be this is the version Jimmy Miller produced and then the Glimmer Twins cellophane wrapped the album version...too bad...anyway, much better version, better sound...it should have sounded like this on the album...thanks...

Diamond rings, Vaseline, you gave me disease, well, I lost a lot of love over you.

The link to the studio version has expired. If you can, please repost it.

And I don't think Miller was hired for those sessions at all. All material sounds rough when it isn't finally mixed.

BTW, where did you get that studio version? Is there a boot containing IORR sessions with alt. takes of the songs?

The blessed Jimmy Miller was probably just expunged from the Stones camp at this point...late 1973. Horse and trying to keep up with the Glimmers had finally done him in...and he was discarded.

Too bad they thought they had to 'clean up' this track for the official release...they took some of the blood out of it and gave it that 'canned' sound one finds on the record.

Hope the link works.

It's on Acetates from Midnight Beat. Also released on Idol Mind.

I downloaded the song, and it's great! I like the tamborine not present in the final version and the drums sound less thick. Mick also sounds more unrestrained.

But the final released version is still better, because there's more bass presence, which is very important in the song.

I love that record and I think the production is just fine and it suits the album well.

Can someone repost the Los Angeles, July 13, 1975 version? File has expired. I would appreciate it.
