I must first thanks Master UrbanSteel who took time to upload the original DVD !

Lookin' at this DVD, i was a little bit dissapointed, because except MILAN,
the rest is historical but very poor in quality!
Milan has lots of reverse images and dark shadows and i decided to cut the rotten images from this rare footage!
The sound from the DVD is also not quite mixed with the images, and i'm not agree
with some of you which think that the best show of 1970 is Milan!
Others shows sounds better!
That's the reason why , after washed up and cleaned the images, i've deleted the sound of the DVD to import the sound from the Paris Show from September 23, 1970 which is for me one of the best sounding show from this Tour!
It's not perfect, but i try to do my best to have a pretty good DVD with only the best scenes from MILAN with the sound of PARIS!

Yes of course but I don't know if the tracks fit with the images !
For Paris, as you could see , sometimes yes sometimes not !

If you want me to do with Copenhagen , i will do it
but i don't have this show in great quality.

I can also re-do a DVD cos i've kept the scenes only before changing and re-encoding, the image is better but it take more time to do it and the size
without sound is nearly 1,50 Go...

here is my try on copenhagen 1st 73,,only the intro,,

left from "greatest dane right from "danish brew"

It's a show from 1973, i think it's better to do it with a 1970's show!

For those who wants to do another remastering sound only !

It's easy

First you must use VirtualDUB like me.
Open my video and in the audio menu select no audio !
Save your new file without audio.
After that, reopen the video and import the file in wav 128kbps format only
from your audio source
and paste it to the video it fits or not but you can try
Save again the video file with the sound in .avi format!
I use X-vid codec to compress.

When you import an audio file, you have two audio spectres!
The left and the right !

I can delete the right one on Danish brew and use the Dane's one instead to create a stereo mix but I'm not sure that's good and it must be synchronised !


UPLOAD just one track (I don't have the greatest Dane) i will see that and post the result after.

Hi, what's the use of using an audio from a different show? The peculiarity of that DVD was that the images and the audio were all original and genuine, taken from the same show at the same time ... but the audio was complete, and the video was not (and that show was not around before the dvd was made) ... the guy who merged and mixed the whole thing did his best to have the whole audio show using more times the same images, to fit with the audio ... doing the mix you did, you made a kind of "Frankenstein monster" ... well, don't take any offense by my words, it's only my humble opinion.

If he's doing his best i don't like what he did, that's the reason why i've made my own one!
The black and white footage is horrible, the second one also,and the bonus with Mick AND Keith should have stayed in the vaults!
For Milan
you could see it one time only after that, you have headache!
Look at the images carrefully ,on the original DVD some images remains two or three times to fit with the poor audio sound from Milan!
I'm not offensed at all, i think these rarities are only historical and worth only
for some images!
What I wanted to do , it's just like a clip, took some scenes from 1970 with good sound from 1970 That's all!

Honestman,sorry for my precedent words,but i think is not good make overdub with another concert.
Milan 67-70 was extract from original video 8( mute).
Paris 70 was a great concert but maybe is better have a mute film but really.
We have make sound from other source (another good friend to record only audio).
think take ABB audio of Lyon (superbe concert) and put on video of london (bad concert).s the same or is a Frankenstein work?

No problems for shares or trade this video, i've make 11 stones video concerts with my handycam and i've trade or shares all this 11 concert.I think there is not problems for overdub bad sound with good sound,but with the same concert.

interesting thread... I'll give my opinion, hoping not to offend anybody.

I agree with people stating that we're free to do whatever we like; the others are free to download it or leave it. We can also mix Altamont audio on Disney Cinderella cartoon; I wonder if the result is worth 10 hours of work.

My opinion is that we should treat the available material with sort of respect, considering also that, in many occasions, it cost a lot of time and efforts to grab it.

If you go to the Louvre in Paris to see the statue of the Venus of Milo, you see as it has been found, i.e.: with no arms. Would you suggest to have it restored with a couple of marble arms, same period, but belonging to a different statue?
And don't you ask yourselves the reason why it has never been done?

Back to the Stones, I've admiration for Honestman who is expert in using the audio/video programs; just wonder if it wouldn't be better to use his skillness to improve the quality of existing material rather than injuring on the small numbers of existing masterpieces.

Also for collectors, I must admit that it's quite irritating when we find bootlegs with 10 tracks belonging to one show, 2 belonging to another tour, and 1 has the intro of one show and the outro of another one.
I don't want to even think when there will be 3 versions of Milan 1970: one with the original audio, one with Paris and the third one with Copenhagen 73 !!

he isn't out to change history , he made it clear where to get the original. i take video footage and add different audio all the time on youtube.taking chances is essential in creating. the guy wanted to take something and try to make it better wether he failed or suceeded, at least he tried

Keep on doing what you are doing.

I suggest that everyone who has complained here over Honestman's work should throw every live audio and/or video album he/she owns into the trash.
Especially every Rolling Stones live album and video.
