disgusting, vulgar, overlyexcessive, gross, wasteful, bad examples, unhealthy, WTF? ewwwww... nasty... stupid.... would never do it myself... dont understand why anyone does... dont understand HOW anyone does it... dont fully know all the details of why Takeru Kobayashi is not allowed to compete in this anymore or why he was kicked out... or why they wouldn't pay Kobayashi properly, he made this event when he crossed the 50 dog line... Now Joey Chestnut is the 11 time champion... it is a great publicity stunt for Coney Island and Nathan's hotdogs (although I only eat Hebrew Nationals dogs)(only at home and only when they are on sale)(and only 2 at a time)(usually on Kings Hawaiian buns)(best buns ever because they are slit on the top, not the side)...

I dont know how/why competitive eating became a thing. I wouldn never watch watch it... ever... except on 4th of July for the last 10-15 years as it is broadcast live on ESPN... I can not explain why I watch it... it is gross... but... like a train wreck it is hard to watch... but it is hard to not watch... so I/we watch... and laugh... and afterwards I always say "Im never watching that again"... until next year.
