I do not know how many Status Quo fans there are on this board but I post this very good audience recording mainly because it was me who recorded it back in 1978. Together with some friends we managed to smuggle in an Uher tape recorder and Sennheiser stereo microphones Which we held on a stick above the audience, and therefore we got a great sound. Unfortunately just after half of the concert the batteries got weak, the tape slowed down, and back home it was impossible to correct the 'Mickey Mouse' sound effect. Therefore, the last part is missing, and I regret that because the closing song 'Bye bye Johnny' was one of my favorites.
But the recording might be one of the best Quo audience recordings of the 1970s, and it gives an impression of the audience's enthusiastic reactions to Status Quo, even though at times the singalong did not go well along with the song. But Andy Bown added a boogie woogie sound to the band which IMHO makes this recording better than the official live album (of course not soundwise but in respect to the atmosphere).
