They certainly like London, Paris, Tokyo, Buenos Aires and New York.

But they have chosen Toronto as a base of operations for rehearsing the last several tours, and interrupted a Euro tour to fly back and play Sarstock in front of their biggest paying audience ever. Jagger has also commented that he feels at home in Toronto and they can relax without the media frenzy of other cities.

Back in the 70s my hometown might have made the list, when they played a great gig in June at the Aud in Buffalo, then came back 2 months later and closed the 'tour of the Americas' (after I believe the South American Tour got cancelled) at Rich Stadium.....making a wild party of it all. But Buffalo's population has dropped significantly, so I do not think we will see the Stones again.

They certainly do obviously like Toronto. But they don't really play there. Do they?

Chicago, without a doubt.

New York.

London...maybe by default. They don't seem to play there as much as they do NYC or Chicago. It seems, to me anyway.

A few others, most that have been mentioned already. Hartford? That's a funny one.

They certainly don't love New Orleans or anywhere else in the South.

Yeah their is no doubt that California represents very well in the Stones history. On virtually every tour they have ever done of the U.S. they have played the San Francisco/Los Angeles areas.

Rio de Janeiro. Period.

Maybe because of the open festival atmosphere and the sexy women, but lots of crime and slums don't add to the party.

Then again if your jet-setting in just hotels and clubs and not much else, what more do you need?

In no particulat order :

Toronto - THE rehearsal city
NYC - especially the MSG
London - hometown
Paris - 2nd hometown, multiple studio recordings, great shows
Munich - recordings, great shows too
Amsterdam - Stonesland
Buenos Aires - for the crowd
Tokyo - for big money and funny audiences
Chicago - for the Blues

To make it up to 10, I'll add Rio

I don't really know, but if I take a wild guess, Iwould go for OSLO.
Beacause every time they play here, they say it's FANTASTIC to be back, we are such a wonderful audience (he say it every time) and Oslo is such a beautiful town, according to Mick.

Don't take it bad, but did you watch the Simpson's episode feat. the Stones ?
It's entitled How I Spent My Strummer Vacation, and Mick saying that it is fantastic to be somewhere makes me remember a funny sequence of this episode.
Watch it if you haven't

Thanks Doc, well when I think about it , Mick said the same thing when I saw them in Bergen, Sweden , and New York as well.
But talking about the Simpsom episode, I saw on TV once, but if I want to buy it on DVD, which season should I be looking for ?

Ruby Friday:
It's season 14. Not officially released yet. Season 11 is just out, and season 12 will be released next summer, so I guess we have to wait a while.

Thank a lot "folke" that was very interessting information.
I have to memorise "season 14" but it will be a very long time before it gets released, I thought they released it just a year or so after it has been on TV.

I think the Stones rehearse in Toronto because they technically can't be in the States for more than 6 months because of work visa's...plus I think they feel an affinity to Toronto because they did let Keith off the hook.
