T&A, it's been a pleasure talking with you about the beacon . have a great day!

cheers.

my regret about the beacon was volunteering to text the setlist as it unfolded to the "general community." gazza was getting the word thru a mutual stateside acquaintance that i was texting. it didn't occur to me when i agreed to do this that it would take an inordinate amount of time - normally it's as easy as texting "sftd" or "td" or "jjf," etc.... but when they started trotting out a few of the rarities, it called for a little more time and focus to hammer out a text like: "Champagne & Reefer with Buddy Guy" - I missed about 1/4 of the damned song in my endeavor to share the news with "the community!" the sacrifices one makes, sometimes.....

Tough decision but I'll have to say Forum, L.A. in March 2006. One of the best setlists of the whole ABB tour IMO.

Yep. The Sway, Far Away Eyes and Worried About You segment, a blistering Rambler, followed by Gimme Shelter and, to make it a complete Stones show, a really messy Respectable on the B-Stage.

Not only was it a great setlist, but the show just smoked. Too bad it wasn't shot for video.

Jumping Jack Flash
It's Only Rock'n Roll
Oh No Not You Again
Sway
Far Away Eyes
Worried About You

T&A, your a noble man providing such a service! Set lists were all over downstairs! It wasn't quite the last minute thing it was made out to be in the movie :-) It was even written out by hand on wooden chocks for the rolling cameras. I had a seat in the first tear where Bill was sitting (I can't remember what they call that in the US - it's the circle in the UK). Anyway NYC handshake ($50 bill) later I was in the first row behind the cast audience :-)

Madison Sq Garden Sept 13 2005 was my favourite. The set list was stunning and it was a really long show. The only thing missing for me was Midnight Rambler. But we got Bitch followed by All Down The Line. Plus a rare outing for Back Of My Hand and the questionable but extremely rare Get Up Stand Up. Hearing them do Honky Tonk Women in New York was amazing. MSG is a great venue with lax security too. The DVD from this show was excellent for a cam job.

Start Me Up
She's So Cold
You Got Me Rocking
Tumbling Dice
Rough Justice
Back Of My Hand
19th Nervous Breakdown
Bitch
All Down The Line
Get Up Stand Up
--- Introductions
The Worst (Keith)
Infamy (Keith)
Miss You (to B-stage)
Oh No, Not You Again (B-stage)
Satisfaction (B-stage)
Honky Tonk Women (from B-stage)
Sympathy For The Devil
Paint It Black
It's Only Rock'n Roll
Jumping Jack Flash
You Can't Always Get What You Want (encore)
Brown Sugar (encore)

Show start : 9:50 pm
Show end : 11:55 pm

AGREED.

Mainly becauce the Rambler I heard that night was as good as any I ever heard. The show 2 nights before actually had a better setlist, with Sweet Virginaia being the highlight. But I greatly dislike Sunday night shows when you have to go to work the next the day. So,that kind of killed my enjoyment of that night's show. Even though Metallica was very good as an opener and I had much better seats that night then the next show...But everything is relative and every Stones show has it's own experience.

Since I was only at Barcelona and Madrid, I guess I'll choose Madrid setlist:

Start Me Up
Let's Spend The Night Together
She's So Cold
All Down The Line
Monkey Man

You Can't Always Get What You Want
Sway
Night Time Is The Right Time

Tumbling Dice
You Got The Silver (Keith)
Happy (Keith)
Miss You (to B-stage)
It's Only Rock'n Roll (B-stage)
Satisfaction (B-stage)
Honky Tonk Women (to main stage)
Sympathy For The Devil
Paint It Black
Jumping Jack Flash
Brown Sugar (encore)

Some nice surprises for the european tour of 2007.

Ain't Too Proud to Beg and Respectable were also nice to hear in Barcelona though...

For me, it was Werchter 2007.
Shattered, Rocks Off, Some Girls, Waiting On A Friend, All Over Now were played very rarley on ABB, at least in Europe - I was really happy to find the way to Werchter.

Since I still have seen no more than one (1) concert I couldnt possibly
mention any other than Brno 2007. But I'm afraid I have to agree with Jepper here above;
I share exacrtly the same sentiment about Love Is Strong... Thou in Brno.
Actually, this very day I saw for the first time the tv-report from Brno gig

Well, I only saw Houston and Austin. Houston was a great show, but Austin had the more interesting setlist.

It wasn't as good as a few of the shows mentioned here, but we got nice versions of "She's So Cold" and "Sway," plus "Bob Wills is Still the King" and a very good "Aint Too Proud to Beg."

Then, of course, "Learning the Game," which may have been the treat of the tour.

Others that were not played every show: 1) "You Got Me Rocking"; 2) "Let's Spend the Night Together" ; 3) "Oh No, Not You Again"; 4) "Streets of Love";5) "Bitch"; 6) "Under My Thumb"; 7) "Get Off Of My Cloud."

winking smileyHey Greek, I have to agree with you about that Sept 20, 2006 Foxboro set list! I was in the 6th row, Keith's side and it was a beautiful night in every way...another Boston opening night, Mick and Co on fire, and one of the best set lists I've ever heard in all 36 Stones shows. Opening with PAINT IT BLACK, followed by LIVE WITH ME, MONKEY MAN which was unreal, and SWAY, my first time hearing that live!! That was followed by a superb SWEET VIRGINIA and for me, a highlight of the tour, STREETS OF LOVE! Don't GAG gentlemen, it was brilliant, even for those who don't love Stones ballads!! Keith outdid himself with his mini-set by doing an amazing YOU GOT THE SILVER, with no guitar accompaniment, he sang it with real feeling. Ronnie played by his side, it brought tears to my eyes. Then, LITTLE T&A.....I could notget that song out of my head for the rest of the week. My friend and I sang it all the way back to our hotel!! The rest of the set list was more predictable but still fabulous! This was the Stones BALLS TO THE WALL and earning their title, " the world's greatest rock 'n roll band."

mickschix ,

I was at that show also and it was my 2nd choice . I preferred the 2nd show at the Fleet Center only because we were relocated by a usher at the last minute to some really prime seats down in front .

Yes 11-15 was excellent. Had great seats in the 8th row. Plus security was pretty lax and was able to move right down in front of the "B" stage. I had to work the next day after the Sunday show as well but it in no way killed my enjoyment. Probably killed my efficiency at work the next day but one has to make sacrifices. :-))

Of the three shows that I saw on the Bigger Bang tour, the Charlottesville, VA bomb scare show had my favorite setlist (except, of course, for the unplanned intermission): Sweet Virginia and All Down the Line in the "first set," my first Get off of My Cloud on the b-stage, Midnight Rambler and Paint It Black in the "second set," and no Keef set at all.

Yeah I was at that show as well. But the fact that they moved it from the Sat before Thanksgiving to Wed before Thanksgiving made the travel an absolute pain in the ass. From start to finish, working all day then flying to LA and trying to get to the dump they call Dodger stadium was an absolute nightmare and had a rather severe effect on my enjoyment of the show.

OK, I was at that show. Why is it that everyone from No. Cal thinks everything that represents so cal is bad? I didn't find it that dumpy, but yes, a lot more of a dump than Anaheim Stadium, and what about the old Candlestick Park, down the street from you? Well, what I did like about CP is the fact they brought the hot dogs to youdrinking smiley

I'm not gonna defend Candlestick by any means Bluz...and like I said, the fact that they moved the show to the day before Thanksgiving had a lot to do with it. Plus walking into Dodger Stadium was like walking into enemy territory for a Giants fan...But hey I LOVE SO CAL race tracks...I'll be at SA on SAT for the Breeders Cup. Woo HOO. Really looking forward to that.

I wore my Giants shirt to the show. Actually took the day off and flew down early in the morning so as not to be rushed. Flew back early the next morning and was in the kitchen cooking turkey by eight AM. The movement of the show to Wednesday DID add to my plane fare though.

Candlestick Park is the greatest stadium in the world. Period.

To me. I have had so many glorious and happy experiences there that nothing could ever replace it going back to my first Giants game in 65 when I was 8 with my dad and brothers (4) when they beat the Reds 4-3.

Many Giants, 9ers (including both NFC Championship victories over Dallas in 82 and 95, the former being "The Catch" game) and the Stones twice in 81, no other stadium could ever possibly replace it for me and I will MOURN the day they knock it down.
