Hey keeffriffhard, you still haven't replied to my question. In stead you opened a new thread to pick on Blondie "com suis". Why is that ?

Please, while I like Blondie, and saw him with the Beach Boys (where he was a member), don't say he was with the Byrds.

Here's the history of the Byrds, from Roger McGuinn's website:

Here's Wikipedia:
[en.wikipedia.org]

No Byrds fan considers the post-1973 tribute bands fronted by Michael Clarke or Gene Clark to be anything resembling the Byrds, let alone that anyone who played in them was a Byrd. That claim is even less authentic than claiming that some youngster who is in one of the several sets of Coasters or Drifters that have floated around is a Coaster or Drifter.

I saw Roger a few weeks ago. Getting older, but still wonderful. He does a solo show with songs from throughout his his career. Still a magnificient guitarist. Catch his show if you can.

Reading all this makes me yearn to hear "Satisfaction" played very loud. No Blondie needed.

And for that matter, he wasn't a member of The Band, either.

Don't listen to rumours. (Unless it's Fleetwood Mac) Stick to the facts posted by the juf here on iorr, and also there's useful info on www.blondiechaplin.com
if you're interrested.
Click on TOURS and confirmed dates pop up.
Did you go to the Let It Bleed exhibition opening?

Addicted makes some good points about the value of Blondie and the others.

I think some of the people that criticize the backing singers and musicians are really just complaining about them being used at all, not about their ability or performance.

Re: Blondie Chaplin - shows in Norway -updated

Much of it is probably due to musical jealousy - and the fact that even the backing musicians are populare among the ladies...
Actually, I think it's because they're living in the past. Yes , at one point one could get away with five young dudes playing the Shea, with amps - sufficient for a club - for 30 inutes. But that's quite a wile ago!
