The Stones were respectful, had integrity, respected their covers yadda yadda yadda. Whereas anyone else is just a pathetic rip off merchant with no originality. There is no contradiction here right? Richards has had a career based on Johnny Be Goode and the Open G tuning. All music is based on adapting, call it what you want, someone else's music. I rest my case m'lud.

If Oasis hid the fact they take a little here and there from their influences, then, I think there would bea problem. However, they don't. The openly admit to knicking this or that.

But how can you nick something and then claim to be original? To be the best? If The Doors suck, why are Oasis ripping them off verbatim?

Also they have said a few times that the Beatles are overrated. Whether they meant it or not I don't see Clapton, keith or anyone every saying that any blues greats were overrated or anything insulting.

ah the gallagher sisters just say that to stay in the boulevard press, every 3 or so months liam kermit gallagher comes around and says he is a better singer than elvis or so...they will always be known for arrogance and stolen songs !!
