Hi Group,

I a big Ian Stewart fan and am always on the hunt for pics of him.

I find it interesting, for example, that during the '75 tour, there are pics of the entire band WITH Preston & the percussionist but NO STU.

My friend swears that he saw a pic of the entire group promoting the '81 tour but I have yet to locate it. He "thinks" it may have been on 'Entertainment Tonight' but can't recall exactly. Anyone have anything of this sort or have some rare Stu pics they could share?

well, to be fair: that was partly due to Billy & Ollie joining three Stones at the mic for You Gotta Move -
photographers and filmmakers tend to be attracted to stuff like that, and to figures that move around, etc.
it's a moth-like feature that lots of people in those professions exhibit.
(it's also one source of gripes about Stones "posing" - but that's another story :E)

here's a shot of Stu with the Glimmers - i know nothing about it, except that that i love it.
if anyone knows the details - date, photographer, etc - that would be brilliant, please and thank you!

With Sssoul - the photo is taken by Ken Regan, I think. He took several pics the same evening.

Sure, WIth Sssoul, I think it comes from the rehearsals for 1982 tour at Shepperton Studios; that's may 1982
Edit: Hmmm...suddenly I wonder if it could be a Gered Mankowitz photo - as Gered shot most of the photos from that rehearsals...!

ahh like this one?! hm - never occurred to me to think of the one above "in the same breath"
with the 82 Mankowitz shots ... but yeah it might be the same general scenario.
i don't know if i think the one above is a Mankowitz shot, though -
the way he tells it he was only at the studios for one night.

With Sssoul, I never could place that Ronnie/Jagger photo (+ some others), untill I saw it in connection with the famous, and great, Stewart/Richards/Jagger photo you uploaded. ...which I've always assumed was 1982 Tour rehersals

He was born in Scotland, raised in Sutton, Surrey.
