sticky fingers cover question

Okay - it's bugging me over ten years and i can't find a definitive answer.

When SF was released back in '71, the typeface on the cover of the album was somewhat similar to a few lines of text knocked out by a cheap typewriter, and all small enough to fit in the belt of the model on the cover. Kinda like this

I picked up my Virgin re-issue of this on CD in '94, the miniaturised version of the LP and the style of writing was completely different.

The text isn't like out of a typewriter - it's like somebody 'rubberstamped' the album and band name.

Was there a change in the original 'Jeans' artwork at some point where the typewriter lost out to the rubber-stamp?

It's no earth shattering query - i'm just curious

Perhaps the typeface would have required a magnifying glass to read?

You´re right but I don´t know the answer.

It´s strange but covers seems not to stay as they were created,
for example who´s live at leeds got different colour versions as well
(again something stamped:blue and sometimes red,hm...)

Typed was U.S.

Stamped was U.K.

I bought several copies of this LP in England when it came out in 71 and it was defo stamped version... probably one of the best LPs ever!!!

"...till the next time..."
