[harmonizewithsongs.blogspot.com]

lil film under tues Aug 19 here of a guy w the biggest record collection in the world. Thing is at 1:30 in he shows his most valuable which is a stones record i've never seen before worth $6-10000 he says. Any clues as to what it is? whats on there? no hint of a title just b/w cool 68/69 pic and 'the rolling stones'.
pertinent yet sad film tho.

I cant get the video to work, but there are more than a few Stones records worth multiple thousands of dollars.

Street Fighting Man US picture sleeve
Stoned US purple and white label Stock US single....promos are worth a couple of grand, too, if in Mint condition.
UK Stock Single of Poison Ivy
Alternate cover to US Big Hits, textured cover, text in two lines, alternate type set
US Prototype Picture disc of Big Hits (side 1 plays Through the Past Darkly/ side 2 plays Ten Years After SHHHHHH)
US WLP 1st album London FFRR
US Promotional Album, RSD-1
UK Promotional Album, MONO RSM-1
Best of Burden US pic Sleeve
Etc.

"This album was never commercially released for the consumer . . . and this is a brand new copy."

Hmmm. Was there to be a soundtrack album for One Plus One?

thanks for the shot there camper. Seems to be no sign of Brian on the cover... uncertain times. Great gloomy picture but I'm doubtin this was scheduled for official release lookin like a classy boot maybe.

No boot, this is the famous promotional album, only 400 copies, 200 for the US and 200 for the UK. It's not released for the recordstores, only for radio stations to distributed exclusively to influential rock radio programmers prior to the release of Let It Bleed and includes an 'arguably alternate' take of Love In Vain, available from no other source, No Brian on the cover, this pic is a late sixties, early seventies shot.

Was it the US London, or the UK Decca?

US $2,000-$3,000 in NM and UK Mono, $4,000-$6,000. Also, I think its more like 200 US Releases, and maybe 20 or so UK ones. The UK is HENS TEETH RARE.

>> No Brian on the cover <<

... so who is that on the left? and is Bill's head a cut-and-paste job?
(sorry, not trying to be facetious, just wondering what i'm looking at)

thats a great selection of tracks, interesting flow there. Glad to see Brian on the cover too.
yeh I imagine the 'first flat record ever from 1881' he had his mits on is worth way more in that collection he's got. many a year i could spend locked in that bigroom with a few mates and just beer and peanuts for sustenance.

I think his comment was based on the first image that I posted, where it was harder to see Brian off to the left, and yes Bill's 'doo (and head) looks a titch XXL.

same cover for the boot, "strictly stereo," which is a nice album, but worth more in the $6-$10 range (a few less zeroes)

BTW, I watched the movie: this guy touches the vinyls with his dirty fingers... I'm disgusted to see records treated in this way.

not a bad compilation, "I'm Free" and "Stupid Girl" being the only poor choices...

Brian is on the cover messing with some morrocan drums, the entire cover seems to be a cut and paste job from a couple of spring 1969 recording sessions.

the disc is indeed rare, but i have heard the US version and none of the tracks differ (as far as I could tell, but after 45 years of listening to the Stones what do i know...)including "Love In Vain'...sounds exactly the same to me as the ordinary version on LIB

Yeah, but check that mix of 2000 man. Unique to that record...Also, the MONO version on RSM-1 is different, too!

Mind boggling! Looks like that could be Brian on the left to me too! Just where was this guy from again? That's a collectors dream LP to have. Never in circulation and in brand new condition. Something to ponder. I wonder if he's parting the collection out for real?

Can anyone ever remember the band playing Stupid Girl live since the 60's?

There are other pix of Brian that day floating around - he's wearing a turtleneck sweater and plaid pants. I think March '69 is the date most commonly attached...
