But your post is total poppycock!
Townshend wasn't convicted of owning photo's of kids, not convicted of abusing kids, taking photo's of kids, seeking them half way round the world, he was cautioned over one incident whereby he accessed a Child Porn website. He didn't download anything. Have you ever read the thesis he did on the horrors of child abuse several years before the trouble started? No? thought so.
Thats fact.
Your statement is your opinion and your opinion only.
What makes you think you know the whole story? How do you know Pete didn't cop a plea? Pete's a national treasure in the UK, so they treated him with kid gloves. What do you suppose would happen if Sir Paul McCartney got hauled in for something like this? They would have said "Look, Sir Paul, we're big fans and all, and having you sitting here like this is one of the biggest thrills of our lives, but you can't do shit like that, okay? But we've got to do SOMETHING to punish you, so let's do this: Just let us put your name on the sex offenders registry, and we won't divulge any of the unseemly details, okay? You can tell your fans whatever you want, and we won't contradict you. Is that okay with you, Sir Paul?"
Pete was SUICIDAL in the days following his arrest. Why would an innocent man be suicidal? I think the outpouring of unconditional love and support may well have saved his life. Unconditional love is the kind of "We love you no matter what you do" love that parents feel for their children. And it's something that Pete has really latched onto, like a life preserver. To this day, "unconditional" is a word that frequently turns up in Pete's conversation. "I loved John Entwistle .... unconditionally!"
Of course, Pete now expects and demands that kind of unconditional love and support. He expects and demands your unconditional financial support, too. "If you REALLY loved me, you'd put your ass in one of those $500 front row seats!"
Okay, now I really AM done talking about this.
