Sorry I'm a Who fan myself and I really wasn't classing the two in the same category. I think everyone accepts Pete was nieve in what he did and nothing more.

I thought he was planning to go back to the UK for medical treatment? Think I read it on BBC...(Heart condition? But I find it hard to believe he has a heart.)

Whatever he's done wrong (& I certainly do not condone anything), the fact remains that he made some fabulous po-rock records & put on some great shows. I hope he's remembered as a bit more than a just another kiddy-fiddler when he's gone.

Always thought he was more into guys, since his act was one of the campest around.
I find it hard to look at his musical work and totally forget about what he's done to kids in Vietnam, Cambodia and God knows where else... I feel sick when I hear "Rock'n'Roll Part 1" and 2, and that's probably because I've met kids who have been victims to people like Glitter. The damage, the scars, never heals.

Who fans need to lighten up. As for forming a supergroup, Gary WAS part of the Who's Quadrophenia tour in 1996. You think it was only for Gary's musical brilliance that Pete wanted him on that tour? You don't think it had anything to do with wanting to share information about certain hobbies they may have had in common?

Pete is not a God. He is a human being. His music has probably saved my life a few times. But I'm willing to accept that the man's got a few problems.

Remember that politician who was tapping his foot in the mens room at that airport in Minnesota? He had a long and respected history of action AGAINST rights for homosexuals. People who fight the devil tend to fight the devil they find IN THEMSELVES. Maybe somebody did something to Pete when he was a kid, and, as a result, he found those same kinds of impulses in himself when he became an adult. Because he is a GOOD MAN, he's tried to fight against those impulses in himself and against the people who promote the kinds of behaviour that cause people to become f_____ up in that same way. But the impulses remain.

Men have the power to control their own behavior, but we really have no control over what we fantasize about. All that shit is already predetermined for you, long before you become an adult.

We have to admit to ourselves that it's highly likely that many of our musical heroes have screwed underage girls during tours etc, I bet the list for those who have is a lot longer than those who haven't.

For the stones perhaps only Charlie is the only one who hasn't, but the quiet ones are the ones to watch.

This is of course different to what GG has done, but it seems that this is how he started, like Jonathan King, on the long road down to full on pedophilia!
