From past posts/comments I know there's a lot of BIG LEBOWSKI fans/super fans on IORR. Well, the film is now 10 years old and a limited "Special Edition" is coming out on Sept 9th with a second DVD disc full of extra features - it will also be packaged in a miniature plastic bowling ball. The most interesting extra feature seems to be "THE DUDE ABIDES: The Big Lebowski 10 years later" (you also get - "The Lebowski Fest" and "The Dudes Life" which lets you know what THE DUDE, Jeff Lebowski, has been up to for the last 10 years - plenty I bet) Not sure if new footage was shot for this release but I believe some was. Where's all the BL fans?? There used to be a lot around here....

On the way home from work today I listened to my unofficial BL soundtrack, completed just last week - it took me years to find Shawn Colvin's "Viva Las Vegas." And I love Townes Van Zandt's cover of Dead Flowers.

...oh yeah, that version of DEAD FLOWERS just kicks ass, it's a fantastic wonderful surprise the first time you hear it..... Great Soundtrack on BL all the way through for sure....

I found this movie very boring...but for an interesting reason. The 'dude' was a composite of my freinds. The hair, the attitude, take a drink with you anywere, light up where you will...it just was not interesting...it was fact. Comedy movies are funier if you do not relate to the main character, he's supossed to be an exageration.

I do call my 20 year old son 'the Dude' but he does not know the reffernce. I also understand "dude' is a derogitory term for Aussie's, any truth to this?

I personally think comedies are more funny when the main character IS someone you can relate to....

But, as I said before, that's just my opinion, man. BL had me at the check writing scene within 5 minutes of the movie's start.....
